early on in coming out (to myself) as a bisexual woman i found some really great articles on autostraddle and more recently a few great podcasts, but i would love to add to my list. any suggestions? looking for podcasts books/audiobooks websites instagram pages blogs what else?
I like badass women save themselves from the lesbian talkshow. It's two lesbian authors. The books I've read by them honestly weren't great but they are okay to listen to and dont have super annoying voices.
The podcast "Nancy" is awesome. It's an npr podcast, both the hosts are queer, and they do that npr style story telling and investigating, but with relation to LGBT topics. It's a good mix of funny and serious, the hosts are both really cool, and it deals with all swaths of the LGBT community.
Ooooh! This should be fun! I am recently get into stuff targeted for queer women and really getting into exploring it all! Books! The Exile and the Sorcerer. This is the best lesbian book I've read to date! It's the first of a four book series so if you like lesbian fantasy you should give it a try. TV Shows/Movies! The L Word. Kinda of stereotypical but I swear this show is addicting! I love it! Youtubers! Jess and Mclane. Fav couple ever! Adorable videos! UnsolicitedProject. Funny channel made for queer women. Both the hosts are lesbians. Paige and Holly. Cute couple. New to YouTube. Rachel and Sarah. Lots of vlogs. Established couple on Youtube.

that’s a great policy, perhaps i missed something, but i didn’t notice anyone posting to their own media? please forgive me if i miss understood.
I think it's all good. I think he was just putting out a warning in advance since some people tend to link to a lot of stuff. No one has linked anything so I think we're fine?
The Big Change of Heart PodCast is interesting. http://www.bigchangeofheart.com/podcast/ This gives a good overview of Dr. Jennelle's own big change of heart. It's about women married to men who fall in love with women. https://womenwantingwomen.com/2018/...rried-a-big-change-of-heart-with-dr-jennelle/
having listened to this one lead me to more of her episodes as well as a fe other new podcasts. Lezhang Out is a good one and i’ve added some queer history ones to my list as well!
@smurf mind it i share the link here? there may be some others in this forum page you find useful! https://www.wnycstudios.org/story/gaggle-finding-queer-friends
getting ready to listen to this podcast about bi-erasure, they also have an episode on pansexuality that aired more recently. https://www.stuffmomnevertoldyou.com/podcasts/bisexual-erasure-part-1.htm
I love Stuff Mom Never Told You! Especially since my mom definitely did not tell me this stuff! Really all of How Stuff Works is great, but the show with the most LGBT centric content is SMNTY. I'll have to check out the episode on pansexuality, I haven't heard that one. If you are interested in LGBT history, Stuff You Missed in History Class, while not an exclusively LGBT podcast, talks a lot about people and events from underrepresented and shunned groups throughout history, including the LGBT community. In particular I remember episodes on Audre Lorde, Bayard Rustin, and Sylvia Rivera.
Podcasts: Throwing Shade. It's an adorable and funny left news show with hilarious hosts and informative stories. One segment is women's issues, the other segment is LGBT issues. Making Gay History Call Your Girlfriend (haven't heard it yet but looks good) ANYTHING with Cameron Esposito
yes, SMNTY!!! they have so many great episodes! i am still getting acquainted with the new co-host, i like her style! haha, my mom either! i think the pansexuality episode was okay, would have been cool if they interviewed a few pansexual people of different identities for that one. going to give stuff you missed in history class another try, specifically looking for those episodes. thank you for the suggestion! (the stuff of life is an interesting one too, more science based)
Queery! with cameron esposito a must listen! her interviewing skills and compassion and relatable personality (not just to me but to the folks she interviews) the points of view of her guests and interesting perspectives of people from all walks of lgbtq life are shared fairly... her and her guests are refreshing to say the least. let’s just say i binge listened to every episode without listening to a single other show over the last month or so. so good!
so it has been years and i decided to start the L Word over from the beginning.. i am noticing things i did not notice the first time around... episode one: jenny's female gaze is so blatant, well done? when jenny and her boyfriend arrive at the party at tina and bette’s house a woman is leaving upset at shane for, well, being shane and she blurts out “you can’t just do that to people, tell shane, it’s not okay” or something like that... jenny responds “ok, i’ll tell her” HER! she has never met shane yet at this point, and she knew shane was a woman... i’m not stereotyping, but, that was the first shane i ever heard of as a woman’s name...
