When did you come out?

Started coming out last May - been a long process.

 

About 6 months ago as bisexual, then as gay about 2-3 months ago when I realized that fit better.

 

I came out at 17 as a trans guy, to my family. At 19 I came out publicly. Now I'm basically stealth and have come out as gay more recently.

 

Over 20 years ago, to most people. I still have to tell people who haven't known me for a long time, unless they guess in the course of conversation.

 

Two years ago for the first time. Still too nervous to be out and proud around everyone, though I don't hide or deny it. It's just that nobody asks anyway.

About 4 years ago and I came out as gay.

 

I firmly was adamant I was asexual for ages because being a lesbian didn't feel right but I didn't know about being trans till I was 21. So I came out as liking girls at 15 - everyone was like 'About time!' with no surprises, then I kind of just started binding at 21 and openly admitting about how I felt about my gender - I kind of didn't come out there, I just became and then was.

My niece and nephew call me 'Unkie' - as i'm not their uncle or their auntie. I find that the most loving display of acceptance from my family.

 

Came out as a guy on fb 23rd April 2016 and never looked back. I never came out as gay and don't bother telling people unless it comes up, it's not a big deal to me.

 

About 26, 27 years ago--gay.

 

A year ago, as gay. Only to a few people and still not publicly gay.

I want to tell my family but haven't figured out how. (My parents and sisters know, but the rest of the family doesn't)

 

November 2016, as gay. Glad I did it.

The first time I came out as gay was a little over 5 years ago, at age 17, when someone interested in me basically forced me to come out to him. It was a very negative experience, and I didn't come out to anyone else for over 3 years, when I did so to a friend at the age of 21. I came out to all of my friends about 6 months later, and my family when I was 22. Since then, I'm totally out as gay, to the point where I don't really come out to people anymore, I just live my life and people figure it out pretty quickly. However, I am pretty closeted as trans, so I'm still working on that. So far only my sister knows, but I'm coming out to the rest of family and close friends over the course of the next month.

 

September 6, 2013 I told my parents and sister I was bi. Told a few other people that for a few more months until I realized I was just gay (except for Jennifer Lawrence), so I had to re-come out to those people which wasn't a big deal

 

Came out as being pansexual to my ex-girlfriend when I was 15. To this day, I am still not out officially to a lot of people but at this point, I assume most people just assume that about me lol. I haven't came out as agender to anyone yet.

 

May 2005 - gay. That's 13 years ago now...but for various reasons, back in the closet. My family know but pretend they didn't get the memo. I am not open at work except to a select few.

 

I came out to my ex a year and a half ago, and to my close family about a year ago. I'm not out to anyone else, but I don't try to hide it either.

 

Came out to my parents when I was 25. Dayed girls up until then. My parents were/are very accepting. No issues
