    Hi,
I really want to get to know new people from the LGBTQ+ community. There aren't many LGBTQ+ people around my area and non but my brother know I am a lesbian.

I've had my on line profiles follow me back to real life before! But I'll PM you once you're a full member!

I used to really like online LGBT forums before I came out as well. Engrossing in LGBT pop culture really helps too.

Most difficult task of my adulthood. I never have an issue actually meeting people, it's the issue of actually getting to know someone for who they are, even just on a friend level. Seems more difficult in adulthood than it did in young adulthood/childhood. I kind of think all the technological advances over the past decade make it more difficult as well, people just aren't as social and open.

I totally agree with you but these types of things sometimes help especially when you haven't come out yet and you find it difficult to admit it and tell people.

You need to make 50 messages then you fill in an application form  I have only just filled my form in so hopefully I will be a full member soon.

The L word and Lip Service are a pretty good start. Not sure how old you are, but I loved Sugar Rush when I was a teen.

hi!! I’m in the same boat as you, and I’m really keen to make some lgbt friends because all of my friends are straight and it would be nice to be able to talk to others who understand because I’m also a lesbian in the closet haha

(hey sorry I noticed you had written on my profile but for some reason I can’t reply on yours- I think it’s because I just joined maybe. so I’ll just reply here)

yeah it’s pretty difficult to be in the closet, all my friends are straight so there isn’t really the opportunity to talk about it. It’s really great to meet other people like me

oh I see! no worries then, I’ll send you a private message as soon as I can

same here!! I always get asked why I’m the only one in the group without a boyfriend and I don’t want to say anything, or I get asked which boy I like and I have to awkwardly avoid the conversation. I think my mum does suspect though, she keeps dropping hints or making jokes, but I’m definitely not ready to be out yet. I’m going to uni in october so I might be able to be a bit more out there since I’ll be away from my super small town.

It’s nice to meet you too!

Omg same i am always asked "so when are you gunna get a boyfriend?" Or "we need to find you a boyfriend" and im like you really dont and i want to tell them but im just not ready.

I totally agree with you, im planning UNI next year and it will be easier for the rest of my family to know when im not there. Plus ill be in a safe place to tell them they have no power over me.

me too I feel like I should tell them but I just don’t feel ready either. I wouldn’t even know how to say it tbh, and I worry about their reactions. I think when I go to uni I’ll be out (except to my family) but just saying that is terrifying. lol it sounds really irrational but I don’t want to come out in case I change my mind
I hope your uni prep goes well!

Yeah i know when i came out to my brother i didnt even mean to it sort of came out and after i was like shit what if i change my mind and that aa well as their reaction has stopped my from telling people especially my friends. Its so annoying that we have to come out as gay, why can't they come out as straight and its not like we will ever stop coming out to people.
Thankyou which UNI are you going to?
