In the 70s, 80s, abd 90s I was a pretty serious comic collector, but it’s been years since I’ve bought any. Just reread my old issues

That's cool. I read your post and then pulled up the game and thought wow I've only got a couple thousand, how'd he do that? And then I thought, wait how DID he do that?

I don't really officially collect anything anymore. The closest I have to a collection are road maps, mostly the kind you get for free at highway rest areas. I guess I sort-of collect wrestling DVDs, since I probably own about 100 or so, though mostly just ones I am interested in. I can't really afford to buy too many of those anymore.

As a kid I collected baseball cards. At one point I had nearly the entire set of 1990 and 1991 Topps cards. I had thousands of them (maybe close to 10,000) at one point. I'm down to maybe 1000 now, all in storage.

I own hundreds of books. Some of them are an active attempt at a collection; others are simply what I have amassed over the years. I also have shelves of records.

The only things I've seriously collected where coins, bills/notes, and stamps when I was younger. For the money, they include bygone designs of Canadian money and some foreign ones. Same with the stamps. I have a pretty big box under my bed for the money collection. The stamps take up a drawer in my desk.

I also really like antiques, and it's been something I've gotten into since. But I don't put in nearly as much effort into the antique collection as I did for the money and stamps though. It's just if I stumble across something really nice, I'll add it to the collection.

I definitely collect stuff, definitely books but also clothes, jewelry, seashells, various knick knacks, and honestly anything I can get my hands on. I'm not a hoarder or big spender, I'm smart and organized about it, but let's just say the dragon zodiac is accurate because I collect stuff and every single thing I own is important to me (not price tags, the meaning each thing has to me).

My room could make a very interesting hidden object game, lol. I've also started collecting bottle caps somewhat recently and I want to collect stamps but I only have a few stamps so far. It's funny, my stuff collections range from fancy jewelry to 'trash' (treasure!) I find on the ground. xD I don't care, finders keepers. My mom jokes that I was probably a crow or something in my past life and I wouldn't doubt it. I have a bunch of various cards (pokemon, magic, etc) and cds as well.

I collect fish eyeball lenses, one specific fish skull bone, and this tooth-like thing that comes in pairs in fish skulls. I haven't figured out what this thing actually is, but the shape of it varies with the type of fish.

See, I love books like this too. I actually have a collection of books on mysticism, nature based religions, mythology, all that good stuff. I dabbled in paganism, but since becoming an atheist I haven't done much. I hear there are some atheistic pagans out there though. I still find all of it very interesting.

I used to have an extensive library (I once counted over 1,400 books), but I lost all of them in a flood (the great floods happening down south). I also had so many books because of what I do for a living!

I also collect horse things. I ride horses (am getting another horse this fall, a year after I lost my mare) and have been obsessed with horses all of my life. So, riding paraphernalia, horse books, horse collectibles, horse clothes... I even have horse socks.

I currently collect postcards, I have about two photo boxes full. I also have a lot of collections I abandoned, including stamps, coins, rocks and minerals, and pressed pennies. I still have most of those collections, I just don't add to them anymore.

I am so sorry about your books! As a fellow book lover I would have been devastated too.

Thanks! I just remind myself that 100,000s of people lost their things, so I try to keep it in perspective. Plus, now all of my things fit in my car. Ha!

Also have some rocks and minerals as well as the squashed penniez. My favorite is still the one with (some type of) ray on it from the Baltimore aquarium. I got it when I was really little so it's one of my oldest and most familiar possessions.

Man, the thing with the books and the flood sucks. I don't even like to see my books get worn out (I take good care of them and try my best but anything I take to school inevitably gets worn out to some extent, sadly), I can't even imagine losing them like that.
