Like the title says, do you collect anything? What do you collect? How big is your collection?

I've acquired quite a variety of collections over the years like coins from ancient Rome and odd stuff like that.

The main one though is a stamp collection from around the world, all of which have trains or other vehicles on them. Probably over 1,000 stored in two large binders and at least one from each modern country in the world, some from countries that no longer exist. I was really into trains as a kid and started collecting train stamps. One of my teachers had been collecting the same thing for many years, and we bonded over it. Years later he unfortunately passed away, but to my surprise I was in his will and inherited his entire stamp collection. I treasure it.

I have a small collection of old books and records. Most of the records are either rock or classical music, although I am looking in to obtaining some operatic pieces. Perhaps I'll seek out a Caruso recording. The books are far fewer (they seem to cost more), but my favorites are a few different versions of Tobias Smollett's The Adventures of Peregrine Pickle (I have an illustrated version too!) and a book of trials c.1730, the binding of which has unfortunately fallen apart.

I collect coins. Over the years I managed to collect plenty of coins of different values and currencies. Many of them are no longer used, these include especially coins from some European countries before they accepted Euro. Also I have coins from countries like Japan, Israel, etc.

Also, I collect things, some kind of "souvenirs", from countries I've visited. It's not anything specific, from each country I have something different, and usually it's something that lasts and is pretty small. This includes public transport ticket from Latvia, bandana from Poland, wristband from France, and much more.

I gave a state quarter collection, and a collection of Funko Pop figures. For the coins I have all 50 states, some U.S. territories, and some that feature national parks. My Funko collection consists of 20 figures.

Not sure if this counts, but I also have quite a few of the figures released for the Disney Infinity video games. I have 58 in total, and almost all of the power discs.

I don’t collect anything nowadays, but when I was a kid I collected marbles haha. I didn’t really play with them the way it was intended though. Instead, I used to love counting them and sorting them by color, size, and design haha. Yeah, I was a strange kid...still kind of strange lol.

When I was a kid I collected pocket knives and old Tonka trucks. I was around 9 when I was doing that. Still have a few knives and only 1 Tonka left.

I don’t really collect anything now days, I’ve just accumulated a lot of stuff.

I have a rather large currency collection that includes foreign and US currency with a complete set of US $2 bills. I also collect a specific, bygone brand of vacuums called Fantom. They were the predecessor to Dyson and were made from 1993-2001.

I have a Dyson dc33 that I love. What is it you like about Fantom vacuums?

I suppose this could also qualify as a collection. I like old 70s and 80s gas powered tools. So I have a 1978 snowblower, 5 small chainsaws the oldest one is from 1972, and a 1970s generator. Mostly I just like making them run again.

I’d collect cars and motorcycles if I had the money.

The first model they built (called the Thunder, furthest left in the picture) was first and arguably the best bagless upright vacuum ever built. All of the brand-new features that the Fantoms had (bagless, handle doubles as hose/wand, Hepa filter on exhaust) are basically taken for granted today, so they really brought the industry into the 21st Century.

I have a small collection of plushies. Some I’ve kept since childhood, some were gifts, and some I’ve bought myself.

I didn't know that there were pre Dyson type vacuums cleaners that were Dyson-like. It makes me think that the Dyson isn't so innovative as Dyson claims. So, did you get your Fantoms out of your garage to take that photo just for us - or is your house just very clean?

And are $2 bills normal day to day use currency?
