(I don't see any roleplays, so I thought I'd make one for fun- I kinda miss RP-ing on EC, haha XD) Rules: - Keep everything PG as much as possible - No god-modding (taking control of another character without express permission from the user. Eg I can only use character X after getting permission from the user controlling character X. NPCs are okay, though) - Any potentially triggering/ sensitive topics should be hidden with a spoiler (eg mentions of abuse, etc) - Try to include everyone, and have fun! Setting: Straddling the line between the human world and the afterlife (ghosts, demons, etc), there are times when the two worlds cross paths, allowing for interesting encounters to happen. Characters: Name: Kyler Joseph Gender/ pronouns: Male, him Species: Half human, half ??? Appearance: A relatively muscular dark-skinned male, with dark, messy medium-length hair that's usually tied into a small ponytail. Usually looks slightly annoyed (his eyebrows are usually furrowed), but is usually just in deep thought. For his job, he wears a dark shirt and jeans and a short brown apron. Tucked under his shirt is a necklace that his boyfriend(?) gave him a few years back. Personality: Strong-willed and hardworking, Kyler tries to sympathize with the people he comes across. He's also quick to offer help, much to the displeasure of Christoph. Backstory: Raised by a sick single mother, Kyler quickly learnt how to be independent and survive on his own. He was told that his father wasn't a human shortly before his mother's death (thus explaining why he sometimes saw things that weren't supposed to be). Somehow, he always accidentally phased between the human and afterlife and was subsequently picked up by Christoph, who taught him how to better control his 'powers', in exchange for running a cafe in the afterlife. They became boyfriends(?) a few months after that. Name: Christoph Gender/ pronouns: Male, him Species: Fallen(?) angel Appearance: Tall, blonde, and regal. Always dressed impeccably a pressed dress shirt, pants, and a vest. His hair isn't gelled but somehow is never messy or the like. On his right wrist is a silver bracelet that morphs into a bow and arrow or a dagger. He doesn't show anyone but Kyler his wings. Always dons a cocky half-smirk and a tightly controlled poker face. Personality: A condescending asshole to everyone, but still somehow manages to be a gentleman to the ladies. He's generally a very prickly person, but his jabs become more affectionate if you manage to get closer to him. He's rather popular among the ladies, to the envy of many others. Backstory: Not a lot of his history is known. Just that one day, he decided to pick up Kyler and set up an antique cafe in the afterlife, although he doesn't seem to appear often; he tends to leave Kyler to man the cafe by himself. The regular patrons of the cafe often gossip about Christoph, weaving fantastical stories of him being an angel-slayer or the being that leads the souls through the gates of Hell. All things being said, they know that the single counter-seat in the corner would always be reserved for him. ~ Kyler sighed quietly to himself behind the counter, glancing at the wall clock once more. Time doesn't really flow the same way it did in the human world, but having the clock there brought a sense of...normalcy. As much as there could be in an antique cafe located in the afterlife, really, with the semi-transparent blob of a customer who seemed to be melting into a chair in the corner and all. Who sets up a cafe in the afterlife, anyway? The afterlife was a strange place, and the cafe stranger still, Kyler mused to himself for the nth time. The cafe itself had a tendency to...phase? Teleport? Itself into different realms and locations, though it was usually somewhere between the human world and the afterlife. How the regular patrons seemed to always find the cafe, he had no idea, and neither did he want to know. He usually spent his time between the cafe and the human world, and when he was away from the cafe, it seemed to stay in the same location where he'd left it- if that even made any sense. The owner- Christoph- was an angel. He was also the one who'd decided to take Kyler in one fine day, on what whim Kyler was unsure himself, and then professed his love with such a deadpan face that it actually was slightly unnerving. Knowing that his benefactor? Boyfriend? Was also highly skilled with many weapons did not add much to the atmosphere then. (Christoph, to date, has not said a single word about their relationship since then. It's terribly confusing for Kyler.) Sighing once more (the semi-transparent, melting blob of a customer had indeed left a stain on the chair- he'd have to clean it out somehow, now), Kyler made to grab the cloth set aside for this very purpose when he caught a glimpse of a very strange sight outside the window. That was...strange. Did he see it correctly?
