It's Nowruz here in Iran and some other countries. We're celebrating it as we have for thousands years.
    It really is beautiful ceremony.

Nowruz is the day of the vernal equinox, and marks the beginning of spring in the Northern Hemisphere. It marks the first day of the first month (Farvardin) in the Iranian calendar.[44] It usually occurs on March 21 or the previous or following day, depending on where it is observed. The moment the sun crosses the celestial equator and equalizes night and day is calculated exactly every year, and families gather together to observe the rituals. (Wikipedia)

Nowruz (Persian: نوروز‎ Nowruz, [nouˈɾuːz]; literally "new day" or "day of renewal") is the name of the IranianNew Year,[30][31] also known as the Persian New Year,[32][33] which is celebrated worldwide by Iranians, along with some other ethno-linguistic groups, as the beginning of the New Year. I love the picture with all the food! Would you mind saying more about the food and whether it symbolizes anything?

Thank you all, I wish a good fortune too : )))

    Definitely,

I would explain it by myself but i think noting is wrong with copying from Wikipedia and it's even better:

Haft-Seen also spelled as Haft Sin (Persian: هفت‌سین‎, the seven seen's) is a tabletop (sofreh) or (Haft Mewa,هفت میوه, the seven fruits) arrangement of seven symbolic items traditionally displayed at Nowruz, the Iranian new year. The haft-seen table includes seven items all starting with the letter Seen (letter) (fa) (س) in the Persian alphabet, all of which represent important concepts in Persian culture.

    The primary Haft-Seen items are:

    1. Sabzeh (سبزه) – wheat, barley, mung bean or lentil sprouts growing in a dish.
    2. Samanu (سمنو) – sweet pudding made from wheat germ.
    3. Senjed (سنجد) – dried Persian olive.
    4. Seer (سیر) – garlic.
    5. Seeb (سیب) – apple.
    6. Somāq (سماق) – sumac.
    7. Serkeh (سرکه) – vinegar.
    Additional items
The following items may also appear on the Haft-Seen table as ornaments or for the sake of completeness. Although some of these items are Persian symbols, they are not the main part of the traditional Haft-Seen and can vary by region, family beliefs, or tradition.

    • A holy book, usually Qur'an or Avesta
    • Divan-e Hafez, or The Shahnameh; Iranian poetry books
    • a mirror with two candles
    • a goldfish in a glass bowl
    • a lamp
    • painted eggs
    • a bowl of water
    • wheat or bread
    • hyacinth flower
    • traditional confectioneries like Shirini nokhodchi or Nan-e Berenji, as well as some candies.
