I saw the first one, it thought it was the dumbest movie I'd ever seen, and I've seen some dumb movies (Dumb and Dumberer and Mortdecai come to mind).

I haven't seen the movies I just read part of the first book online. I just read the part when Ana(the main character) and Christian Gray have their first sexual encounter and Ana has her first orgasm by nipple play. All the other sex acts and other scenes in the books I haven't read.

I want to see the first movie to find out just how bad it gets but I added my parents to my Netflix account and don't want them to see it in watch again. I also don't want to be completely disgusted I imagine it like true blood with less blood and more spanking

The movies really aren't as bad as people say

Most of the graphic sex depicted in the books is trimmed out in the films so it could be have a widerelease. An NC-17 rating in the US is a kiss of death. Anyone old enough to remember what happend with Showgirls in the mid 90s.

I tried to view the first one on Netflix and gave up after an hour. For me, it is as bad as everyone says. Totally off topic, I just LOVE Showgirls though!

I've never actually read the books, just saw the first movie. Maybe the books are as bad as the movies.
