I am a girl (18) and I have only ever (one exception) shipped lesbian couples. Is this normal? I mean, all of my girl friends either ship straight or gay male couples. But I don't find any of those even slightly interesting. What also bothers me is that I think I have a crush on a female celebrity, but I've never had a crush in real life.
I know you probably can't tell me what I am, but do you think I might be a lesbian? ... I'm so confused

Hey you are right we can't tell you whether or not you are gay but we might be able to help you work it out.

Are you saying you have never had crushes on guys or girls? What makes you feel like you have a celebrity crush now?

I never had a crush on a guy in real life, but I'm really not sure if I had a crush on a girl. There have been a few that I didn't know that well but kinda liked more that others... it´s kinda hard to explain.
Regarding the celebrity crush, I just think she's really cute and I "stalk" her twitter and Instagram everyday. Pretty much the same as when my friends describe their celebrity crushes. I also normally like to comment on YouTube or Instagram pictures, but she's not that famous and sometimes replies to comments, so I'm too nervous to comment on any of her pictures. I don't have that problem with anyone else.

Hey don't worry it's ok to not know. It's can be really hard to figure out how you feel and what it means and get it all sorted in your head. I grew up always assuming I was straight even though I was never really interested in guys. I'd never really had crushes on girls either. Then in my mid 20's I was watching a tv show with a lesbian couple in it and I just had this sudden realisation that I was enjoying it was more than the average straight girl.
Sounds like you might well have a crush on the celebrity.
If you imagine having a boyfriend, and then having a girlfriend, do they feel good, bad, the same different?

I can't really imagine myself having a boyfriend, having a girlfriend only with said celebrity crush. But that does feel quite nice.

Well that's a start. You don't need to put pressure on yourself to figure it out just take things one step at a time.

When did you first start questioning?

Ok so a little while. You have never spoken to anyone about it before?

Haha yes exactly, I was like what, no, this can't be right and then I was super embarresed. I honestly thought I was the only person this had ever happened to, and that's how I ended up on EC.

Are you friends generally LGBT friendly? Not that I'm saying you have to tell them.

PreviousLy do you think the Internet has helped with your questioning or not really?

I don‘t think my friends would have a problem with it, but I don‘t want to tell them.
I don‘t really think that the internet has helped me with my questioning.

That's fair enough. So what do you think you are most confused about? Your attraction?

I‘m not sure if I‘m really attracted to girls. I mean I don‘t know that many boys (I go to a school for girls), so I don’t know if that has something to do with my lack of boy crushes, but then again when I look at the celebrities I‘ve admired in the past, they‘ve almost exclusively been girls.

Ok so what makes you think you might not be attracted to girls?

I don‘t know... maybe it‘s because I don‘t know that many boys and therefore couldn‘t have had a crush on them

But do you think that would make you crush on girls?

How does it feel I feel you say to yourself I'm gay or I'm bi? Don't worry if you don't know. Sometimes I found it helpful to just sit and watch people go by and see who caught my attention more guys or girls, don't put to much pressure on yourself to see anything just see what happens.
