What is the one trait that you want in your partner, and why?

I’m 14 so I’m not really keen on dating right now, because there is no point while I have very limited freedom. But...

A nice trait to have would be compassion. It’s just nice to have someone who cares and loves you deeply, and isn't afraid to show it.

 

Honesty and kindness obviously but I feel like those are things a lot of people would want.

For me, it's someone who cares about family and is close with their family. My family is really important to me and if you can't understand and appreciate that, you and I won't work out. Luckily my bf is close with his family and gets along with mine too

 

Someone who is patient cos I have a lot of problems and need someone to be patient enough for me to work through them.

 

Ditto on the patience for allllll my problems.

 

Empathy. Someone who cares about others and is willing to put themselves in another person's shoes.

 

Someone who won't abuse me me, or at least someone I could put them in prison/leave them if they do abuse me.

Intelligence is a must for me.

 

I'd say intelligence is the biggest thing I'd look for in a girl. I need to be able to have interesting conversations, and someone who's intelligent would likely have a lot of material to work with in a conversation.

 

Trust. It would be a great foundation for a relationship.

 

I think it would be someone who makes me laugh. I tend to be a sort of serious person and frankly a bit of a worrier. Despite the fact that my husband is five years older than I if anyone is going to keep us young it's him. He's just so filled with joy and it's totally contagious. I can't imagine my life without it.

 

A sense of humor. I can forgive everything else.

 

It's hard for me to pick just one I am too picky :3, smart and funny ( So he can understand my jokes and because It's hard to make me laugh)
Or someone who l can be safely vulnerable with ( is that wrong :/ ? )

 

Genuine kindness.

There are a lot of people who can pretend to be nice or force themselves to be nice for years, but I've noticed there are very few whose natural reaction is always to do what they can to help someone else feel better simply because it's the right thing to do.

Luckily, I already have someone exactly like that, and it was one of the first things I noticed about him.

 

I second the honesty trait.
I just feel that if someone is honest, the rest will fall into place naturally. They might then rather be faithful than cheat, or be "man" enough to tell me if the relationship is not working for them anymore. And like you said, less misunderstandings overall.

 

That's one I haven't thought of, but it is a good one for me. The one that most comes to mind is a good (if not goofy) sense of humor. I can be quite goofy at times and it helps to have someone around who appreciates my style.
