No Ed Sheeran in any of the major categories? Ridiculous! Thank God he boycotted the awards shows just like Justin Bieber did when they dissed him. The award show has become one big mess.
For me it's too performance heavy. I know it's an award show for music, but just get to the awards and maybe have like one or two performances. It dragss out too much. And this year, most of the performances have been boring, except for Kesha, Elton John, and Bruno Mars. I haven't heard of/have no interest in most of the performers.
I file it in with all awards shows: garbage. It is rich people patting other rich people on the back and giving out expensive paper weights.
Ed Sheeran deserves a place on Grammy award. Controversy is now circulating over the web, worst year indeed.
He wasn't nominated in any of the major categories when he was by far the most ubiquitous and successful act of 2017. Why do you think he never even showed up? The Grammy's were a joke this year and it showed with the awful ratings. Every year they try to push artistes on us who they want to be successful and sabotage others who are successful but they don't like. Justin Bieber didn't even show up for the performance with Fonsi but even he couldn't have saved that disastrous performance.
I’ve never been into award shows in general. Most of the time, my favorite musicians are never present at those types of shows, so I’ve never been into watching them in the first place. I actually watched parts of it this year, and found it pretty boring. I do like “Despacito”, and I like a bit of Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, and Pink, and Shaggy is nostalgic to me, but I just wasn’t into the performances this year tbh.
I don't really like awards shows because they don't feature really independent artists and really actually show the lesser known side of music like imagine if some Spacesynth artist did a performance because the music awards show wanted to showcase different styles of music instead of just popular music, it would be so much more awesome to give exposure to those artists. I personally want lesser known musicians and filmmakers to be prevalent at the Grammy's and the Academy Awards because when you get into the indie film business and indie music business gender equality seems to be more prevalent.
