I saw it because it's the only big queer film of 2017 that I know of. I find it interesting that most critics say the movie had a happy ending. I can't help but think people wouldn't have called it a happy ending if it were about a straight couple.
I guess the definition of "happy" for queer films is that no one dies at the end.

I've been hearing nothing but glowing reviews about that movie but I haven't seen it as yet. Does it warrant all the hype?

I thoroughly enjoyed it. A beautifully made film. Interesting story and great locations in Northern Italy.

I've heard great reviews about it. I want to see it, but it's not playing in any theaters in my area.

Okay, my favorite part was definitely:
The conversation at the end. I've been thinking about what his father said, and it was just so good! I don't understand why the characters called each other by each others names though. Does anyone get that part? I think it would probably make more sense in the book.

Just watched Call me by your name on Amazon. Lovely film, and can't wait to see it again. If I had anything to say about the two leads, it's that Oliver seemed brusque. I felt for Elio, strongly. But I guess it's a coming of age film, so I'm meant to sympathise with him. Download the soundtrack, it's beautiful. Especially Sufjan Stevens.

I really want to see this! I adored the book. And Sufijan Stevens is an absolute genius.

    Yes. It does.

The way I interpreted it, it's a commentary on how, when you are young and in passionate love with someone, you can forget that you are your own individual, and you can not tell yourselves apart, that's how infatuated you are.

For the record: God's Own Country was pretty big
