Just recently I've read two articles (not from the most credible sources, that's why I'm asking this) on how gay men and women have reversed finger length ratios. What it means by this is that straight men have a longer ring finger than pointer finger and straight women have equal but gay men and women have a shorter ring finger than pointer finger. The only reason I don't think this is complete trash is because this is true for me so there may be some truth to it. Now, these articles did say that gay men and women "tend" to have these reversed ratios so it's not guaranteed. Can anyone help prove/disprove this by looking at your own fingers?
I'm AFAB, definitely not straight and leaning more toward women, and my ring finger is shorter than my index finger. But I myself do not know the accuracy of those claims.
Well I’ve heard that supposedly if you have a longer ring finger than index finger, you’re a straight male or a lesbian woman (and that you’ve had an increase of testosterone while developing as a fetus). I think for gay men and straight women, your ring and index fingers are about equal length, showing supposedly more estrogen while developing in the womb. I don’t know how much of this is accurate though. My mom is straight, and she’s got longer ring fingers than her index fingers. I’m asexual and a lesbian, and my ring fingers are also longer than my index fingers, so look at me I’m a walking stereotype haha. But who’s to say what’s accurate. It’s also been said that finger length can determine certain neurological and developmental disorders, as well as health issues. But I honestly think everyone is so varied in their bodies that this can’t possibly be an accurate or consistent thing for everyone. It’s interesting to consider though.
One hand looks almost even depending on how I'm holding it, the other one the index finger always looks shorter. I never even noticed that until you asked this question. I think of myself as Hetero, but more like Kinsey 1. What did your reading say about uneven hands (or maybe about accurate measurement)?
My ring finger is longer than my pointer finger so that means despite the fact I'm female I'm a straight man.
What if you have a longer ring finger on one hand, but the ring and pointer fingers on the other hand are the same length?
