Hello I'm from Germany and I'm writing a term paper for school about coming out. I am doing this in English because I had bilingual class for the last four years. In german, coming out is devided into two phases: the interior and the exterior outing. But I am not sure if these are the correct terms in English and if coming out even is devided into these two phases in the English literature. Thank you for any help!

I personally have never heard of it being divided that way in English.

No. Its a good idea though, maybe change to coming out intrinsically (to self) and extrinsically (to others).
