So what happens when you die then? I don't like how open ended your post was. :frowning2:

Nothing? We rot in the ground. Sleep forever, essentially. And that's the way I want it to be, I don't want to live forever in some paradise or go through another life. I don't see how my post was open ended?

Because you didn't clarify or elaborate what you meant by it doesn't exist.

Usually you would say, "I believe in the afterlife because... (XYZ)" or "I don't believe in the afterlife because... (XYZ)"

Now you explained further and I appreciate that.

I do believe in heaven and hell. But I have mixed feelings about religion. I have a lot of positive and negative things to say about religion. It’s honestly confusing.

To be honest I’m not sure but my mum is into spiritualist stuff and she is a medium and is learning trance too. Some of the things that she knows and tells people in readings you just can’t make up and be right so I do believe she is speaking to spirit. Not sure I believe in heaven and hell though but a part of you staying behind to watch over loved ones does sound comforting. I would much rather believe in that than god.

I think once your time here on Earth is done, you're done. Gotta make the most of it.

I don't know to be honest.. but I kinda like the Buddhism opinion of reincarnation. But, we'll never know in our current lives. Sooo I think I would just prefer my mind to be uploaded into a computer right before death to live my eternity in a beautiful virtual paradise, lol.

I think it would be arrogant of me to try and claim that I know all there is to know about life, death and the universe, so I usually don't.

I think that there's a possibility of something after death, but whether or not we'll ever understand it is an open question. We really won't know for sure until we cross to the other side when our times come.

I believe that nothing happens, though the brain remains active after death for quite some time, so I guess you could still have a "dream" of sorts, perhaps based on the strongest or most recent memories you have, I'm not sure as to wether hypoxia would affect you at this stage anymore but if so, you go out with a smile and without pain.

I don't believe there is an afterlife. Raised Christian but I looked in to religion on my own for quite awhile and realized I didn't believe in any creator or afterlife. Up until my final year of middle school I never had thoughts about religion, I just followed the religion my family did.

Personally don't believe in the afterlife, I think it'd be like when you sleep and can't recall your dreams, it's just black. The thought is interesting.
