I know most places require 2 weeks notice if you plan on quitting. If two weeks are not given, then they don't pay you for the last two weeks you worked.

I doubt they'd make you owe them anything, but most likely you didn't make any money.

If you are in the United States, federal law requires an employer to pay all employees for all hours worked. It doesn't matter if you quit after only 2 hours. They have to pay you the two hours.

The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) requires covered employers to pay non exempt employees at least the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour effective July 24, 2009, for all hours worked and overtime pay for hours worked over 40 in a workweek. The FLSA is administered by the Wage and Hour Division of the U.S. Department of Labor.

There are specific exemptions, so check out the Department of Labor's website for more information.

Which country or state are you in? In most jurisdictions you have to be paid for the actual time worked. However, if they give you trouble the right organization to help you might be different in different states or countries.
