Saturn has been my fave since I was a child

If Earth is your fave planet (Earth has some beautiful scenery & interesting creatures, but right now I'm more interested in what people think about other planets), then vote for your second fave planet

Saturn for me, too. When I was about 2 or 3 year old and I had this dream of Saturn and its many rings. I was hurling toward the planet and had to make a decision: diving into the gassy ball or the rings. I chose the rings.

I'm so proud of everybody so far for keeping it clean

I guess Venus? I did a project on it forever ago, and seemed alright.

Pluto. It went though so much being declassified and then reclassified as a planet.

Plus, it's so far out in our galaxy that it's mostly forgotten and neglected. I like showing some love to that lonely little planet.

Plus, as a Disney geek, the fact that it shares it's name with Mickey's dog is a plus.

If the subject is limited to our solar system, I have to go with either Venus or maybe Jupiter. I would pick Jupiter because due to its sheer size, I am severely wondering if it's gas all the way through, or if it has some sort of solid core.

Venus is due to 2 things. The weather and violence of it are fascinating. But more importantly, Venus is the Roman name for the Goddess I serve. Aphrodite.

I went with Jupiter just because I had to do a report on one of its moons in middle school. Jupiter has some cool moons.

Venus for sure. Most people don't realize this but Venus is actually a great place, perhaps even more so than Mars, to consider colonizing (and to eventually terraform). Kepler-13Ab is a close second, but only because it snows sun block.

Voted for Neptune because it's big and far away from the sun.

A planet that snows sunblock? Trippy.

My favorite group of planets are in the Trappist-1 system about 40 light years from us. They've found that all seven planets are small and rocky like Earth and three of them are in the habitable zone of their star, which opens up the possibility of them harboring life of some kind. On top of that astronomers have recently discovered traces of water on at least one of them.

The "habitable zone" line never held much water for me. As it sits, we know next to nothing about extra terrestrial life. What is habitable for us, could be a death sentence for them. Take Venus. With as violent as the atmosphere is there, no human could go for a stroll across the park. But there could be something there that breathes the nitrogen, and bathes in sulfuric rain. Also take the heat. You could bake a pizza there in 30 seconds. That would kill us. So I never accepted "habitable zone" to mean anything beyond humans being able to live there.

But if you're a vampire like me, I guess it doesn't really matter because you're already immortal anyway.:alien::smiling_imp:

Jupiter gets my vote because it looks like it would have the potential to be a beautiful planet if it were habitable by us.
