Didn't Velma wind up with Shaggy in one of the later series though?

I didn't see it myself, but I have a few friends who watched one of the newer Scooby Doo series, and they said Shaggy and Velma were dating.

They must've made Velma more feminine or something

I had forgotten all about Captain Planet. Cool show, but really goofy plotlines.

    She was 5...

Looking back on it, yeah, he kinda did. For some reason I feel like Ma-Ti (the South American with the ring of empathy/heart) could have been gay.

Anyone thought that Double D from Ed Edd Eddy could've been a closeted gay boy.

What about Mr. Simmons, the 4th grade teacher from Hey Arnold. I thought that he was a closeted gay man.

My list is huge because, as a kid and young adult, I perceived a lot of cartoon characters as LGBT without realizing it. I believe it's confirmed that some of these characters actually are LGBT to some extent. Some of them I just saw as a strong female presence growing up.

    Peppermint Patty & Marcy (Peanuts)
    Bert & Ernie (Sesame Street)
    Mr. Smithers (The Simpsons)
    Carl and/or Lenny (The Simpsons)
    Patti (The Simpsons)
    Gromble (Ahh! Real Monsters)
    Velma (Scooby Doo)
    Stewie (Family Guy)
    Roger (American Dad)
    Ashley Spinelli from (Recess)
    Buttercup (Powerpuff Girls)
    Him (Powerpuff Girls)
    Francine Frensky (Arthur)
    Korra (Legend of Korra)
    Pocahontas & Nakoma
    Merida (Brave)
    Elsa (Frozen)
    Mulan
    Gaston (Beauty & the Beast)
