Which movie or book do you recommend for somebody who has come to a realization about himself later in life? It does not need to be a LGBT+ movie. Any suggestion on that theme would be appreaciated
While I agree that a helpful movie doesn't have to be LGBT themed, when I first came out, I found a lot of solace in movies/series like The L word (which was not new when I came out, but I hadn't seen it before). While it may be far-fetched plot-wise, it was refreshing to see people like me on the screen. In those early, lonely days before I found the LGBT community in my city, it made me feel like I had a clan.
Although from an older guy perspective, I found a somewhat obscure -- at least here in the US -- BBC movie called "When I'm 64." Very touching and relatable.
Where do I start.... I just watched Moonlight, and it was beautiful. I agree about the L word, Queer as Folk, Sense8, Orange is the New Black, Buffy starting with season 4 ep. 8 to watch Tara and Willow (swoon).... I'll add more soon, a friend of mine just compiled a list...
This might sound childish but, the lego movie, and the lego batman movie, both might seem cute and fun but after watching it a few times there are some real great undertones
Tha Hey Sonata, Thats a good question, and human exploration mini project...going to put it on notice and go search...watch this space....
Also like wentworth prison and currently watching orphan black on Netflix plus liked some of the lesbian movies on there but probably something you would only watch once. Like freeheld with Ellen page and julianne moore. Some good web series on YouTube liked pot luck and starting from now and like the books by Clare Lydon if you like funny rom coms
