why do boys in japanese television bleed from their noses when faced by attractive girls?

    Mainly because arousal or embarrassment lead to an increase in blood pressure which would cause for the nose to bleed. No it isn't actually a thing that happens normally (if it does, that's probably not a good thing) but basically, it's a PG/PG-13 way of saying somebody is horny without actually showing anything mildly explicit.

    My apologies, it refers to the movie ratings in the US. I mean it's a way to make it not seem like it may be too risqué for those who aren't adults.

    there's guy in yahoo amswers who got this problem for real and somebody replied "it means the blood is flowing in the wrong direction... unless you're a dickhead"

    Yes, like I said this problem largely doesn't happen in real life but if it does happen to someone, there's something physically wrong with them.

    Hahah, until the OP post in this thread I was actually only aware of girls talking about having a nosebleed, and this only in the comments section of YouTube videos depicting BL (boys love as in gay) anime scenes or BL fan service moments in Jrock and Jpop. I thought this was exclusively a thing with female 'otakus'. You live and learn!
