Hi guys, I'm not out as trans at all but I hate my deadname. I'm looking for a masculine nickname for the name Zoe that isn't Zo or Z. (Please don't use my dead name k thanks.)
I'm hoping to introduce the nickname to my friends so that others will use it too and I won't feel as bad when people call my name in school or when I move onto college.
I'm trying to look for one with more than one syllable, but I shall definitely consider every suggestion that you guys can come up with.
    Thank you,
    Theo.

Do you want your name to still have the same letter to begin as your deadname, or do you not mind? Because when I chose my new name, I wanted a bit of both and I found one as you see, "Harvey".

I don't know what you like or anything, but of the top of my head how about Zorro?

Zoe is Greek and it means life! The male version is Zois. Another Z name which may work for you is Zachary - Zack for short!

    I hope this helps!

    Hm.
    Zed?

    No, that's one syllable...

I'd prefer it to start with the same letter as I'm using it as a "nickname" rather than a new name. If that makes sense? Like A Georgina can use George without seeming trans. Zoe is a difficult name to work with, haha.

That sounds really cool, but I'm not sure what people would think if I asked to be called Zorro Thanks for the input, perhaps close friends can use it!

    How would you pronouns Zois?
Though Zack or Zachary wouldn't work because I'm not coming out, lol.

That might actually work since I'm in England.

Thank you all for your input, I'm still looking for more ideas and then I can choose something that I like!

If you want it to be a nickname, but not come out, Ziggy is a boys name, but it still sounds really goofy and like a nickname would sound.

No, not Ziggy. It reminds of Ziggy Stardust, who was rather femme...

Zois is pronounced in two syllables with the emphasis on the i - Zo-IS.

I had the same thought, but I guess it's generally neutral. Not sure what people would think, lol.

    That sounds cool.

I think I might be going with Zed or Zee. I don't know yet.
