    Hi,

I'm not sure wether or not you can help me with this, but I'm moving to Scotland in about 20 days and I don't have a flat (searching for a shared flat) yet. Do you have any ideas of what I can try to get such a flat?

It would be even better, if I could find someone who actually has an opening; however, I know that's extremely rare

    Just looking for advise...

    Have a nice day
    Jolly

It might depend on why you're moving to Edinburgh. If it's for a job or school, perhaps your new employer or new school will be able to set you up with something, or at least give you an idea on where to look. Or, if you know some people already in the city, you might ask them for leads.

Can you say more about what takes you there?

Its always best to find a flat once you are there because some pictures might be misleading etc. I moved to london without a house and found one in a day. I would recomend spareroom and just start mesaaging people a couple days before you get there. Also if you can pay the early bird access its better to get a chance to see the nicest places!good luck!!!

    Hey there!

Thank you both! I just found a flat, where I can stay and hopefully get some nice memories. The only thing is that I'm really scared about being away from home and things like that ^^

    But hey, that's life -.-

The right attitude! In fact, you already have some nice memories. They just don't seem that way (yet) because they are still recent. But here's to more.

I'm a little jealous, I think Edinburgh would be a nice place to live. I have lots of Scots in my family tree. And I think the people there are so stubborn that they would be pro-LGBTQ just because. Anyway good luck!

Moving out for the first time (and even the subsequent times)! can be scary, especially if you're moving quite far or to a completely new situation. Remind yourself that it is totally natural to be nervous about it! Are you going to university or something? if you don't know anyone there try searching for some groups or classes you can go along to. Yes it will be scary the first few times but if you pick something you're interested in that will let you meet some hopefully similar people.

Yeah, littleMouse, I'm going there for university. I'm quite nervous but also excited to be living there and see new things everyday

    Thanks for the encouragement

Moving away for school is hard for the first week. And then once you get into the routine of classes and meet new people it gets better. Good luck!

Hope the move went well! I remember being really nervous about moving out when I went away to uni but a lot of other people will be in a similar situation. Good luck in your new adventure
