I cut my hair short today; the shortest I've had it since high school, and I want to cry. It was in horrible condition and just frizzed and didn't do anything I wanted it to do, and this is probably the best route to healthy hair, but I look "gay" for the first time since I realized I was. And I don't know why but that thought made me seriously consider purchasing a wig.
I like it long, about bra-strap length, with no bangs.

It sounds like your Mother doesn't want you to have short hair. Yea my issue with my hair is that it's high maintenance it's thick and course plus I don't have the time to do it as often as I used to. I have 4C hair, the only thing that gets on my nerves with my hair cut now is that people keep asking me if I'm from Africa. On guy tried to hit on me saying I looked "fresh off the boat" I told him to stop talking to me.

I had long hair all through my childhood. Never liked it. Too much work. Now I wear it short and spikey. I got teased for how I looked too. Even now totally stranger's feel the need to comment on it.

Medium. Long hair can be a hassle to take care of, and short hair looks unattractive to me.

Human sucks sometimes. I've felt relived when I cut my hair again. It's less maintenance and stress on me.

I agree. Short hair is easy. And I look better.

It may seem odd, but I like it ridiculously long and covering at least half my face. I tend to keep it dyed black but I like to put a stripe of colour in, preferring purple but it often doesn't last.

I don't personally like being looked at in the face, so I like to keep it partially covered for the sake of my own self esteem. I like my hair though, so I'd prefer it be seen instead. If that makes sense. I get nervous if I pin my hair up, so I practically never do it.

I used to have my hair long but got irritated by how long it took to wash. So one day I just took a pair of scissors to it. I like it short and slicked back kind of greaser style but it's still long enough to tie up

Towards the end of uni I grew my hair out and had it like that for a number of years. It was about down to the shoulders at the back and had a sort of wide look on top which I liked even if it did look like I'd been dragged through a hedge backwards. A couple of times I let my girlfriend cut a bit off but she would always end up going to far and I ended up growing it back out. Anyway last year I fancied a change so had it cut sort in the style of Matt Ryan from Constantine as I quite liked the look. However I wasn't that happy with the results and it didn't really suit me as my hair doesn't come forward enough to look right. Anyway since questioning my gender I really regret losing my hair so I'm now trying to go back to a longer length and at the moment asking my hairdresser to go for a more feminine look with the hair without cutting to much off so it can grow. When he first did it it looked a bit like kaley cuoco's short hairstyle which I liked but still want longer hair.

My hair is shoulder-length. I would love to try something new and like shave one side or something like that. BUt I'm too scared to try it. What if I don't like it?

So, right now i just have some red highlights, just to stand out

For almost my whole life I had long hair but was never satisfied no matter how long it was, especially after a miserable haircut in second grade. Chin-length looks good on a lot of people but it did not suit me at all. In the last few years, I started to want shorter hair because I was fed up with my long, frizzy hair. My hairdresser refused to cut it to shoulder length and I really resent her for that. Because after compromising to having her cut it to boob-length, I waited another year until I finally bought scissors and cut it off myself, safely after my graduation in case it looked horrible. And you know what? I've never felt prettier and I've never gotten that many compliments about my hair. Shoulder-length or a bit less than that suits me best and I wish I had gotten this haircut earlier.
Don't let your hairdresser convince you to cut something you don't actually want. I cut my hair myself since then and now I don't have to give someone else control over my hair and pay money when it doesn't even look good. And it's not that difficult.

my hair's about shoulder length at the moment (it was way longer just a few weeks ago!) but I'm going to get it cut very short soon. I've always wanted shorter hair but was never able to get it til now

I like it very short in the sides and back, but with length (varying) on top. In the past I had it too short up top, but nowadays I put much more effort into making it look good.

I've had my way every way you can imagine; in a long ponytail, short. bald, and everything in between. Anymore though I like it long enough to put into a short ponytail.

Short hair's the easiest way to exist. Used to have hair down to my ribs. Cut it, and now it only takes ten minutes to wash thank god. But chin or shoulder length would be neat. Probably chin actually. I just wouldn't have any chance of passing if i had longer hair and i don't have the patience to wait for my hair to grow that far. The scissors are simply too tempting.
