Would drinking a soda and eating a burger be enough of a glucose spike to take with creatine? I normally do juice but I'm out and I don't wanna get behind on my supplements. Protein, creatine and bcaa is all I take. I just got into taking supplements so any advice is appreciated.
From my experience it doesnt matter what you take with the creatine. Your body will absorb and utilize it none the less. Its more about timing and dosage.
Ok. I took 5 gs earlier today and drank a protein shake. I'm bout to take 5 more. Im kinda weary on taking more protein though. I'm trying to bulk but at the same time I don't wanna get too fat. How much creatine should I take in a day? I've never took it and I read a thing that was talking about loading and it said 20 grams but that seems like a lot to me.
Oh man do not worry about protein consumption. How many g's protein a day are you having? I am cutting weight on 160 g of protein a day which is over 1 g per pound of bodyweight for me. If you are concerned about getting fluffy just make sure you clean bulk and cut back on either carbs or fats rather than sacrificing calories from protein. I always say 1g protein for every pound of bodyweight then fill in the rest of your calories with carbs and fats. I also carb cycle so the amount of carbs depends on my physical activity. I reco you look into it. Count them macros XD As for the creatine thing, you are loading to saturate your muscles with it which is why the dosage is so high. Heres a link to a cycle plan for it http://relentlessgains.com/how-and-when-to-take-creatine-monohydrate/ Its not too much for a load but definitely will be too much for maintenance. Once you are done loading decrease to like 5-10g a day when you wake up and after a workout. You dont actually have to load though. Some people just do maintenance year round.
Ive taken so many supplements but the ones that have stuck with me are whey and casein. 25g whey before a workout and 25g casein before bed does it for me. Nothing else is really necessary for me as the whey has the bcaa's and pre workout does nothing for me. But then again it does depend on goals. I just want strength and size isnt on the forefront of my mind. All my bb friends take creatine though, so it would probably be a good idea
Oh ok. I've been doin about 120 grams of protein a day. I weigh 180. So I guess I need more lol it just gets nasty after that much. It's about 4 shakes worth. Thanks for the link! I've only been taking 10 grams a day of creatine so I'll prolly bump it up for a couple weeks then do the maintenance.
I've got whey. Which one do you think is better for bulking. And do you think I should also get some casein?
All the rest of the protein comes from the 5 meals solid meals I eat a day XD. Loads of chicken. If shakes are too much then go with meat or something instead. Definitely makes it more enjoyable. Bodybuilding.com has amazing stuff to read about this kinda stuff, you should defo take a look. Loads of people with a lot of experience on there! Whey and casein serve different purposes. I use progenex whey protein cause it tastes good and is super pure. Its pricey though (I only use it once a day so its fine) so just your regular gold standard whey or whatever you have now will be fine if you are consuming a lot. The whey is fast absorbing protein which is why I take it before a workout. Casein is before bedtime as it is slow releasing so it keeps your muscles fed during the night. So I do recommend it especially on a bulk as you are gonna wanna keep those gains XD. Basically both are necessary lol. Casein can be replaced for 4 - 6 ounces of lean protein though.
. Casein can be replaced for 4 - 6 ounces of lean protein though.

7 By that do you mean meat?
7 By that do you mean meat?
Yeah, sorry I didn't specify XD!
It's ok. Sorry I've been slow replying I'm still at work. And ok I think I would rather do that anyway I like to eat more that I like drinking those shakes haha
No problemo! Yeah, tbh eating whole foods is always better than just having shakes. The shakes should supplement the food not the other way round! Just hit your set macros and the results will be the same
