I saw there was a thread about this years ago, so I'm making a new one. Anyone you'd go straight for? For me, I honestly don't know. Maybe Harry Styles or Chris Pratt. They're both pretty attractive but they have awesome personalities.

    Hey kendall,

Not to be offensive or trying to shut you down, but the basic premise of your thread is biphobic. Simply speaking, if someone has romantic/sexual attractions to even one person of the opposite sex, they are technically Bi. That isn't anything like what you are suggesting in terms of 'flipping a switch' to have someone suddenly become 'straight'. That's actually something called bi-erasure. These days we generally recognize that people can also be Bi and not either/or straight or gay.

I'm pretty sure that that is NOT your intent, but even posing this type of question can add to the bi-erasure cultural effect in the LGBTQ community.

I THINK that the question that you are posing to fellow Gay individuals is something along the lines of "whom (of the opposite gender) would you consider so attractive that you might actually want to date?"

I'm bisexual so I suppose I can't play along? But I'm fully straight for Emma Watson and fully gay for Alexander Skarsgård

Uh, Silvert, I'm Bi, too. What are you trying to say?

I'm just trying to help the OP. What purpose do your comments serve? (Not judging, just asking.)

I was just being a team player my man. The OP created it for gay/lesbians so I wasn't sure if I could play long.

Hey, no one needs to apologize, for sure.

I was only trying to frame this post in a larger context. I totally understand how much biphobia, intentional and unintentional, exists within the LGBTQ community. I deal with it on a regular basis. And, just as within the heterosexual community, MOST of the 'phobia' exists because of misunderstanding and/or a lack of knowledge. Here, in this EC Community, we are all about promoting KNOWLEDGE and UNDERSTANDING.

We can always excuse those who make statements that are unintended or misunderstood or misinformed. That is part of life. The important thing is to acknowledge those unintended or misunderstood or misinformed statements so that we can grow together as a community.

    My thoughts.

You're right, I didn't mean for it to sound biphobic or add to bi-erasure. I understand being bisexual isn't like "one day I'm gay and another straight" or something like that. Going straight or gay for someone is just something I've heard people say before, kind of for fun. Thanks for explaining it to me though and being understanding.

It means I wouldn't go straight for anyone.

I hate to be one of those people, but...it would be hard to, lol. The closest example would be my best friend's original character that we roleplay with. I kind of have an obsession with him. But even then It's more of "I really wish he was my best friend!" sort of feeling. He's not even real, and I'd still feel sick/wrong with the idea of sex or kissing him :'D...But luckily, he has a girlfriend (my character, since we roleplay) so I wouldn't need to.

Being a kinsey 6 makes it hard to understand...maybe being kinsey 6's would have to figure out which of the opposite sex we would "squish" on, lol

Hmmm. I'm gonna say Beyonce. She's beautiful, and not to mention very talented and kind of an introvert, in spite of her fame, which is cool.

No one. To me it's not worth it. I've wasted most of my life trying to hide who I am and it hasn't turned out so well.

This is a hard question. In theory I'd go straight for some meterosexual hunk type. But if one of those guys actually approached me in real life I'd feel like they're invalidating my sexuality. Even if I am a bit bisexual. So probably no one.

If I liked guys I guess I'd go for Ed Sheeran. Mostly because his lyrics are amazing his looks don't really come in to it for me though I do like redheads.
