I heard about it while ago. It's such a shame he was a very good singer.

He was a great vocalist and all around good guy as far as I know.

I started listening to LP in 2002, this was a real shock to me.
Hybrid Theory helped me through some of the tough times when I was a kid.
    RIP Chester.

My heart is broken. Linkin Park was a solid foundation in my younger years... I remember bonding over it with my cousin and making him promise me we'd someday see them live.
Chester was a beautiful but tormented soul. I'm deeply sadened that he was hurting so much to go through with this tragedy.

This is so devastating. I was listening to Linkin Park only minutes before I got the news. I still can't believe it.
    RIP

Chester's was one of the few celebrity deaths that really shook me...it was devastating news. He was such an influential musician and presence in mine and many of my generation's young teenaged lives. He will definitely be missed. :disappointed:

Their music helped me out a lot too especially when I was still in school.

I have several of their CDs in my music library and his voice to me was the group in so many ways. Although the group consist o some very talented musicians, it was his vocal skills that stood out. He will definitely be missed and such a sad, shocking and tragic lost. I just heard on the news that the latest update on his death is that he hung himself and did not leave a note.

On one hand, I was surprised. On the other, however, it didn't come as a surprise. I have two of their albums and have listened to a few other songs. Their music is extremely depressing. If I'm not mistaken, I think Chester wrote or co-wrote a lot of their music. I feel for him, and the wife and children he left behind.

His is the first celebrity death that really shook me. The first post about it was someone posting a generic mental health awareness post and i did not think anything of it until i saw the post before that of the person talking about how much Hyrbid Theory helped them through a rough time. Then i scrolled down and saw a rip chester hastag and my heart just sank. Shift started in like ten minutes but i didn't care. I couldn't believe it at first, i mean his music just struck a cord with me during the dark times, ya know? And to think just reading those posts on twitter, not even having seen the articles about it yet, that he had probably died by his own hands...it just crushed me.

I haven't followed them in a while so i did not even realize they had a new album out...apparently they were gonna go on tour for it. Apparently a friend of his died not too long ago. It was heartbreaking and scary cause to me he seemed like he had it all - big career, family, etc. And he still couldn't beat it.

man, this really depresses me. Chester is one of the first singers i've heard and influenced my singing in so many ways. they were also the gateway band that got me into heavy metal. we shared so many experience, it's crazy how this had happened. they were the band that got me through hard times and abuse. i've always wanted to meet him one day and get the chance to thank him for everything he's done, and now i'll never get that chance.

Very Sad to Hear... Far to many who have been the voice of a Generation or of an Era have gone out this way, or Tragically early from Drugs or just Tragic Accidents... <sigh>
