Anyone hear a fan of John Coltrane? What's your favorite album from him? My favorite album from Coltrane is a A Love Supreme.

I agree that Love Supreme is recognized by many Coltrane fans as a classic recording and his best. However, I do like Kind of Blue, Crescent and Milestones as well.

A Love Supreme, Om, Meditations, Blue Train are some albums I like from him.

Kind of Blue, Bitches Brew, In A Silent Way, Sketches of Spain are my favorite Miles Davis's albums.

Coltrane is amazing. There are a lot of incredible jazz musicians I currently listen to who were influenced by his work. Joey Alexander is one who is definitely worth checking out. And Jacob Collier is in another whole universe of jazz/fusion complexity, and also worth checking out.

Have you listened to his wife(Alice Coltrane) solo albums. I have listened to one or two songs on Spotify.

Yes, I know that Alice Coltrane has made many solo albums and the one that a lot of people hails as one of her best is the album entitled "Journey in Satchidananda".

Have you listened to Alice Coltrane and Carlos Santana's Illuminations(1974). I'm listening to it right now on Spotify.

And Alice was highly influened by John's work. I mean just wondered of what would have happened if he didn't die of cancer, if the two of them would've get making albums together(they made one or two in '65'-66 I believe, he died in '67.

No...actually I have not gotten around to listening to that one although I've heard a lot about it. My brother in law owned a copy of this because he was a huge fan of Coltrane and Santana's. Hopefully, I will get around to giving it a listen. Thanks for the recommendation.

Have you listened to the 1972 Santana Caravanserai. It's Santana's first attempt at jazz fusion and it's a pretty good album.
