Have you ever noticed that some songs (especially Disney ones) speak to you as a trans person? For example:

    1. Let it Go - Frozen - LGBT
    enough saida bout this one.

    2. How Fall I'll Go - Moana - Trans or lesbian
"I can lead with pride, I can make us strong, I"ll be satisfied if I play along, but the voice inside plays a different song. What is wrong with me?"

"I tried to be a perfect daughter"

    3. Reflections - Mulan - Trans or lesbian
Enough said about this one too.

    4. Try Everything - Shakira - Just because it's Shakira singing about a bunny who wants to fulfill a traditionally butch/masculine role as a cop. Have you noticed how all the other cops are male (though her trainer at the camp was a female polar bear that looks pretty butch)

"Birds don't just fly, they fall down and get up. Nobody loves/lives without getting it wrong."

Do you have any other unofficial trans anthems to add?

I'm Still Here (Jim's Theme) by John Rzeznik.

This may as well be the National Transman Anthem.

I'll say the obvious "I'm coming out" from Diana Ross, but I also feel "All these things I've done" from the Killers is a great one:
"When there's nowhere else to run
Is there room for one more son
    One more son
    If you can hold on
If you can hold on, hold on"
And later if you slightly change it, as I do:
"And when there's nowhere else to run
Is there room for one more son
    These changes ain't changing me
The cold-hearted boy ((girl)) I used to be"

    I believe, by christina perri.
it's like someone who has finished their transition talking to someone younger who is just starting, and then near the end. both of them singing together the words "this is not the end of me, this is the beginning"

    - "Perfect mask" (Paradise Lost)

    - "Part of me" (Katy Perry) > it's actually about a relationship that ends, but… the video. I don't interpret it actually in a "gender identity" sense, but in a "gender expression" sense. In the video, she stays a woman, but she finds her way to be a woman (really masculine) [the poster: All women are created equal, then some become marines]. Often (usually hetero) relationships stop people from expressing themselves outside the gender norms.
This is the part of me / That you’re never gonna ever take away from me, no / Throw your sticks and your stones, /Throw your bombs and your blows / But you’re not gonna break my soul

    - "Wide awake" (Katy Perry)
I'm wide awake / Yeah, I am born again / Out of the lion's den / I don't have to pretend / And it's too late / The story's over now, the end // I wish I knew then / What I know now / Wouldn't dive in / Wouldn't bow down / Gravity hurts / You made it so sweet / 'Til I woke up on / On the concrete.
"Heh, you made it so sweet, gender assigned at birth. I tried to convince myself that I was happy with you. I tried to be loyal to you. Hmm, nah."

    - "Hair" (Lady Gaga) > in this beautiful live version with piano:
Whenever I'm dressed cool, my parents put up a fight. // […] I just wanna be myself / And I want you to love me for who I am / I just wanna be myself / And I want you to know, I am my hair // I've had enough, this is my prayer / That I'll die livin' just as free as my hair / I've had enough, this is my prayer / That I'll die livin' just as free as my hair / I've had enough, I'm not a freak / I just keep fightin' to stay cool on the streets […] // Don't wanna change, and I don't wanna be ashamed / I'm the spirit of my hair, it's all the glory that I bare

    - "Nothing else matters" (Metallica) > No, it doesn't sound trans-themed, but it's a great inspiring song and nothing else matters.
So close no matter how far / Couldn't be much more from the heart / Forever trusting who we are / And nothing else matters // Never opened myself this way / Life is ours, we live it our way / All these words I don't just say / And nothing else matters

    Innuendo by Queen

Like other songs listed here, this is not specifically about being transgender, but it has a strong lyric. It's my favourite song, and I listen to it every time that I need something to boost my mood.

This is a part of the lyric:

    "From the inside" (Linkin Park)
(Yes, I'm proposing Linkin Park songs everywhere these days Lol)
About coming out/waiting for coming out/wondering if I'll ever come out to someone who's probably not accepting:
Heavy thoughts sift through dust and the lies / (Trying not to break but I’m so tired of this deceit) / (Every time I try to make myself get back up on my feet) / (All I ever think about is this) / (All the tiring time between) / (And how trying to put my trust in you just takes so much out of me) // Take everything from the inside and throw it all away

Ah, I'm tired of being seen as a girl by my relatives. I'm trying to tell: "Please don't talk to me about being a woman" but it's like protesting to a wall. I can only say: "It makes me anxious/ill" but they don't take it seriously because they don't know the reason. The day I'll be indipendent in terms of money, I'll *screangs (screams+sings)* TAAAAAAAKE EVERYTHIIIIIING FROM THE INSIIIIIDE and throw it all away.

    Dio - Invisible

He was just eighteen and in-between
    A lady and a man
His daddy's girl in momma's world
    That was when he ran
You know the word confused has been abused
But that's just what he was
And then the spark inside the dark
The answer came because it said

Not many metal songs that deal with LGBT issues but this is why Ronnie James Dio is one of the greatest. I think this was considered more of a gay song but i just relate to this so much.

    Accept - Love Child

    Don't know what I am
    A woman or a man
    Many troubles behind me
    I'm doing all I can
    But I'm what I am
Leave me alone, don't mistreat me

I believe the lyrics to this song(and some others on Balls to the Wall) were written by Wolf Hoffmann's wife Gaby "Deaffy" Hoffmann. The whole album has a gay vibe and it was somewhat of an issue in the states at the time. The band was tying to be a bit controversial and Kauffmann has stated that this song is about gay people but it's basically about people who are suppressed.

Basically any songs about being true to yourself or realising your inner potential speak to me as a trans person.

  18. The Tiny Rick Song from Rick and Morty. When I listened to the lyrics, I could never view the episode in the same way again...

Let Me Live My Life- Saint Asonia

"I am scared of the face in the mirror
All the cracks in the glass, getting clearer
I always overthink make it so hard
On no one else but myself
    Let me live my life
I can go get my knife
Or I can pull out the one that you stuck in my back
For my suffering, you've got nothing to gain
    My pain is your entertainment
I feel the fear in my head, it's so heavy
Holding down both my hands to keep them steady
When I stop shaking, everything's so easy
    On myself, no one else
    Let me live my life
I can go get my knife
Or I can pull out the one that you stuck in my back
For my suffering, you've got nothing to gain
    My pain is your entertainment"

The Visible Men's "Blow Shit Up". Quiet song, but so much emotion. Can be interpreted as a trans person's refelction on being called crazy by the cis-tem.
