Hiya, I'm new here (obviously). I'm from Ireland which is a pretty conservative country and I grew up in an environment where LGBT+ things were taboo. I'm only out to some friends as my family wouldn't take it well, particularly my step-dad. I never met someone LGBT+ until I was 14 at a summer camp. The next year I figured out that I was ace, the following year I accepted the fact that I had romantic feelings for girls. After about 7 years of trying to "straighten" myself out (eyy get it?) it was pretty scary. I am now proud to say that I have accepted NY feelings and have friends who support me. My country is slowly but surely changing for the better and maybe someday I'll be able to tell my family. Thanks for reading my rant! Shibh Fact: there is no common unreligious way to say hello in Irish. "Dia dhuit" literally means god be with you and you are supposed to reply "Dia is Muire dhuit", god and mary (holy Mary) be with you. So you're literally trying to out bless each other!
