i went to a pride event last night, Pride Bowling, you know those screens above the lanes where you put your name and it shows your score? i was in 'guy mode' because i had to meet with the ex in the afternoon, and i put my real name on the screen, and everyone could see it i felt so good. it was great. :grinning:

one other thing; i was hanging out with some friends sunday night after another Pride event and she's doing her masters thesis in gender studies and she asked me to be part of it. when she was talking to another friend about the subject ect. our friend said you have to get Sarah in on this. i was so flattered and humbled.

So, I got the job and I start on Monday. My boss said I'll be making about $10.75 an hour, and that I'll get paid on Wednesdays or Thursdays. I'm not sure how much I'm getting after taxes though, but if I crunched the numbers right, I'll have a healthy chunk of change after I pay my bills, rent, and other stuff.

I also just got a response back from my provider, and I'm hoping someone can tell me what I can do about getting top surgery. I'm mostly curious to know to what extent they'll cover me; if it's just part of the bills or it's all of it and I just need to take care of the copays. If that's the case, I really, really hope that they can work with the surgeon I had in mind since she's three hours away. If I get a response soon, maybe I'll know then. The best case scenario is that I just need to worry about copays and managing my travel arrangements (unless I'm able to recover from home).

At the end of May, I got an appointment in a private gender clinic for November, with me being potentially bumped up due to cancellations. Today, I got an appointment at an NHS clinic for September. These are the struggles I want in life.

He's scared shitless to come out to his family, but me and a lot of others in his net family have been keeping his spirits high. I hope he's gonna be okay, since I think he was kicked out of his church when he came out as gay, and I do worry if he becomes one of those cases where his family disowns him.

So my preferred name will be used at work, and on my key card. I just don't know about pronouns though. That's going to be tricky, but it's more of a reason for me to light a fire under my ass to get my name and gender marker changed. I hope my ID will be enough, since I don't know if I can get that changed on my birth certificate yet.

Also, an update with my little brother figure. Me and his chosen dad are pulling resources together for him, and he's starting to come out more to other people. Our hope is that once he's settled in New York (since he plans on moving in with a friend the day before he turns 18), then he can start getting his life together. It's going to be hard, but he's a strong little fucker, so I know he'll be okay.

I think these are small “victories?” Maybe? I've finally gotten some of the people I've come out to to use they/them pronouns for me. I met another genderfluid person irl, and she and I set up a small “Genderfluid Pride Party“ thing. We have it with a few of her friends every saturday, which made me even more friends! My irl name is Kat, but I'm planning to get my name changed to a name that'll go with my they/them pronouns. (after I come out to my parents, since I'll need permission from them because I'm younger than 18.)
