Have you ever cut your own hair?

I cut it myself with safety scissors when I was 8. I thought i looked beautiful.



....My hair still wont grow back properly in one spot.

 

I did, lol. The first time was long hair to shoulder length and it was pretty okay, but I'd say not the best. Then I cut my hair shorter to chin length and I messed up and had to go to the hairdresser to fix that But you know, I have experience with cutting my dog's hair and I'm very manually talented. That's why it worked the first time and the second wasn't tragic.

 

Yes, I did a buzzcut. Didn't look too good (you know, transguys overestimating how masculine their faces look) but it's not like I had to walk around with a basecap all the time.

Maybe watch some Youtube first for the style you want and get two mirrors: One in front of you and one behind you so you can see what you cut in the back.

 

Yes, I cut mine all the time. It's pretty short (I kinda look like my avatar now, but without the bangs) so if I mess up it can be fixed in quite a short time. Also I've buzzed both left and right sides last year and managed to make them fairly symmetrical. When I had long hair with bangs I cut the bangs myself, too. Ah now I want to grow it out but sometimes I'm so tempted to grab the scissors again.

 

Since I can't make a straight line with my eyeliner, no, I never cut my own hair I could foresee the tragedy haha But I would like to try! Maybe a couple of hours before my next appointment to the hairdresser

 

No, I never have. I don't think I ever will since I have shaky hands, and wouldn't want to mess up. Plus my hair is curly/wavy, so I wouldn't want to cut it to look weird.

 

I have been for over a year. After I came out I was "forbidden" from getting a haircut, so I did it myself secretly. I always have it tied up anyway so no one notices the length. Typically it's just above the neck, though come to think of it I'm due for one. Usually I just work with some messy layers, I don't care for super stylized cuts because, as I said, it's always tied up in a sort of samurai knot.

 

Only haircuts I could do for myself were buzzcuts. Then I noticed in public people though I was some sort of Biker. I personally just let my hair grow and spike it in the front; or a messy look; or a crazy punk spiked hair. So yeah. ^-^

 

While I was in the service, I had either buzz cuts or shaven head so if my ex couldn't cut it/shave it I did it myself, not sure how it would work for many outside the service though.

 

I cut my own hair fairly regularly. I usually wear it in an undercut, so the sides and back are shaved very short, and I leave the top long. I just part my hair in an even horseshoe shape around my head, tie up the top, and then buzz it all with a 1/2 inch guard blade. Then, I let down the top and part it evenly on both sides, and just trim it all to right above the tops of my ears, so I looks like a bowl cut when it's down. Then I can just part it either way and it just sort of hangs over one of the sides depending on how I do it. I have also just buzzed my whole head all over too with a 1 inch guard blade, which is pretty easy cause then it's just all the same length.

 

Just buzzing the side of my head that is, well, buzzed. I have no idea if I'm doing a good job or not, but I don't see little children pointing the finger at me in the street so I guess I'm doing okay.

 

I want to, but I haven't because I don't want to mess it up or be stuck with a bad cut

 

I just cut it again and I love it. I'm the best hairdresser, period. I'm never growing it out cause it's fabulous like that xD

 

I only cut my hair with scissors once because I was so frustrated with having longer hair than I wanted. Needless to say it came out horrible (no double mirrors) and it was a "hair vent" so to speak. Never did that again, but it grew out fine.

 

I did, when I was at the Uni. It was horrible . Hair everywhere, the cut never was what I wanted and I ended up looking just... ewwwww. But it did not matter because I considered myself as a tough punk rock guy back then, so having my hair messed up was part of my style When I look back now, I don´t understand what the hell was I doing Now I have a nice and lovely hairdresser who takes care of me every month, and she is golden and I am fabulous!

 

I've been known to trim it a bit from time to time. Keeping looking okay before I need a full haircut.

 

I have not, I'm too scared that I'm going to mess it up. Rip
