    So I've decided to give suspenders a try due to being bit overweight and looks like the belly won't be going away anytime soon and belts suck. What are your opinions on suspenders? I feel like I look like some major nerd or goofy wearing them and tempted to say screw pants and wear sweats or shorts or deal with bunched up boxer briefs due to belts not holding pants up properly. There a bright orange pair and currently wearing with jeans so yea. Should I keep trying to wear them or should I just chuck them into the deep dark corner of my closet to never be seen again? Would you go for a guy wearing suspenders?

    Don't see why not. I don't think enough people wear them to be honest.

    Suspenders, in my eyes, give an element of importance. The big boss, if you will.
    Give it a go, i say :smile::thumbsup:

    Even if the guy is dressed in jeans and a t shirt with a pair of orange suspenders?

    It can be cute if done right. Maybe ask a friend with a good fashion sense to help you out? :slight_smile:

    Depending on just how bright the orange is....Also, just my two cents but I feel like suspenders would be better suited to long sleeves, maybe something black, so the orange pops out.

    I think suspenders are great! But, I also think 'how' you wear them is more important than anything else. (I mean attitude, not how you physically put them on.) Will you wear them proudly and with confidence? Will you develop a 'trademark' habit with them, such as putting your hands up to your chest with your thumbs underneath your suspenders when you 'pontificate' about something? Will you make a point of buying many different types of suspenders which you will tend to wear for specific occasions or when you are in specific moods? Or will you have a very limited amount of suspenders and be known for your consistency in wearing them?

    Go for it dude!:slight_smile:

    I think that would work, give it a trial run. If after the first time you dont think it works, just try another get up. You'll never know til you try:grin:

    Thanks all for your wonderful advice and encouragement! I'll be going into town today wearing them proudly xD. One other question....would it be viable wearing them at work? Would work allow me to wear them? Like a uniform job like a delivery driver ect.

    Yay, they can be more comfortable than belts at times. I prefer to wear suspenders at home, but it's not something I'd necessarily wear outside. However, I think that dungarees are cool also, they're getting more popular now.

    Personally I love suspenders. But you do have to wear them tastefully to pull it off.
