Bakuman. The Japanese consulate in New Zealand has free movie nights where we can go watch a Japanese movie. This one was based off the Manga of the same name. After seeing many terrible live action adaptations (*cough* The Last Airbender, Dragonball Evolution) this one was very good and I enjoyed the visual effects!

Saw Wonder Woman a couple weeks ago. I'm usually more of a Marvel movie fan than DC, but I thought it was a good origin story for Diana.

Other than wonder woman, the house seems funny and I'm still waiting for rough night to hit the cinema!

I just saw Hidden Figures the other night. It's pretty good. Even my dad whose a history buff had no clue about these women. I also just saw one with Al Pachino where he plays a singer. Can't remember the name of that one though. Both were on demand.

I just watched District 9 yesterday after an online friend recommended it. Oh my gosh. I'm still reeling.

I just watched The Shining. It was so good. I should have seen it earlier. But one of my friends had already described the whole plot to me years and years ago. It's funny because sometimes things sound more interesting when someone else is telling them than when you do them yourselves or in the case of a movie watch it yourself, but this movie was good enough so that wasn't the case. Though I hadn't imagined the hotel to look so colorful. I had imagined it to look much darker, and be much smaller. I think part of the genius of really suspenseful movies like that is you don't notice how scary the movie is until later. Because there are so many scenes of people doing almost normal stuff, you find yourself scared the next time you do something normal that the person in the movie was. I really liked some of the mysterious aspects of it. Like it's never explained who "Tony" is or why the kid sees stuff. Was "Tony" someone from the past possessing the kid? Now I want to read the book and find out more. I hope the book explains it more in a little more detail.

Just saw Spider-Man: Homecoming. Mixed opinions. I mean, it's Spider-Man, so I loved it, but there's a lot I had issues with as well. But maybe I'm just picky.

Tom Holland & Micheal Keaton did a fantastic job though.
