I know that it's a boring subject but I'm interested. I wear a polo shirt with black trousers with one job and a cleaning tabard to the other. Do you have a uniform?

My job offeres a varity of different colored shorts, but I have all black ones. So, I wear a black shirt with the company logo on it and a tan pair of cargo pants.

I work at my University and they don't have a uniform requirement. They just ask that we look presentable.

Whenever I'm doing a seminar with a new group for the first time, they tend not to know that I'm actually the person taking the class because of my casual student-y attire. I'll sometimes just loiter around with the class and covertly listen to how worried they are about the module, who their seminar tutor is, listening to their speculation about whether I'll be a prick or not etc, and then I'll reveal myself. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I work in a state office and we don't have uniforms, but we're supposed to stick with business casual. No one does. It's not enforced. I've seen coworkers wear things that make us look very unprofessional. And I'm probably guilty of it too...

I work in a small office of about 11 people (me, the only guy, a couple of young girls and 8 older menopausal women) While we just need to be presentable (I always wear a polo shirt) our bosses contract states that their employees can not wear shorts with the exception of our half day, Saturday mornings (a day in which I have off to begin with), thus Im stuck in long khaki pants in 90 degrees plus humidity during the summer.

There isn't a uniform requirement at the high school where I teach, but it is expected that I dress semi-professionally. For me, that's usually a nice but comfortable pair of pants or skinny jeans, a nice button up shirt or blouse, and a comfortable pair of shoes that allow me to walk around and be on my feet all day. Fridays are more casual, so we're allowed to dress down a bit. Usually that means a nice pair of jeans, sneakers/Nikes, and a school shirt or otherwise school appropriate shirt. As long as I obey the dress code, dress appropriately, and wear something semi-professional (but comfortable for teaching/moving), I'm good to go. :sunglasses:

Is this something that all teaching assistants do? Because I have done exactly this more than once :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: Coupled with the fact that I simply look younger than I am and my dress code is relatively free (and over the years the way I dress has not changed much), I have let a group of students think I am one of them only to later reveal myself to their surprise. It never gets old

Aha! Good to know it's not just me who likes to play such games. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Sometimes we need games like that to help us make the best out of how underpaid and exploited we are in the role. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I wish. Oddly, my school has a strict dress code for boys (polo w/ khakis or chinos) but not girls (formal looking blouse or top and anything but denim jeans). My dream school uniform is the one from D.E.B.S.

For my job I wear black pants/trousers, undershirt, and belt. Then I have a company shirt over top, and an apron, and a cap. Yeah, I work in fast food. But at least the uniform is masculine.

It depends on the location I'm working at. I'm a railway worker and it's sometimes necessary for me to go on or near the line, so I have to wear a full high visibility orange uniform with reflective bands and safety boots (today is one such day). If I'm working a location that doesn't require me to go lineside, uniform is optional.

I'm in secondary school so I do wear a uniform. Navy blue blazer, black trousers (or skirt if you want), white shirt, light blue and red striped tie, black shoes. I HATE wearing the uniform because it is a stupid colour scheme and I like to express myself how I want (that's why I wear crazy colour socks, that's one of the few things they don't control).

Every school I ever went to had a uniform. The last uniform I had was pale blue shirt navy jumper with school crest navy trousers or skirt and in an all girls school not one girl ever wore the skirt navy school coat we were allowed wear in class and black shoes. We were also allowed scarfs in class as long as they were navy

Suit and tie--does that count as a uniform?

I have one class every other week and I have it all day each day. Our uniform is one of the shirts that you can buy, and khakis or a skirt, unless it's Friday (or if there's no school Friday, then the last day of the school week), then you can wear jeans. I usually wear a sweatshirt with the class logo on the front and my name and graduating on the sleeve, and khakis or jeans on Friday. If it's hot, I'll wear a polo shirt with the logo, name, and class.
