Just curious, I have Gameboy Colour and my sister has a Gameboy Advance somewhere.

Also, if you do have one, is it normal to have glitchy/static noises in the background of the music?

Not sure about the glitches, mine still works fine but it has to be over 12 years old. I still have some Pokemon games and Kirby: Nightmare In Dreamland(if that's the title) still fun to pick up from time to time, used it to kill time at an airport a few months ago.

Mine broke in 2010. Literally I flipped it up and it broke in half.

the battery might be shifting inside the unit. might be worth taking the backing off and just moving the batteries in and out again. also, taping down the backing can help with that. other parts inside it might be dislodged, nothing's wrong with it most likely.

my brother has my gameboy colour, gba, and gba advanced.

Mine sort of got the hinge busted and I taped it back together, then it got singed, cleaned it up, then it got stolen. Yeah...

I miss the GBA, and really liked the styling of the sprites and sound. Never got to finish Metroid Fusion either.

Despite the abundant damage I didn't have static, I would suspect that is some sort of minor short in the speakers? Especially if it cuts out entirely on occasion.

I have at least two original Gameboy consoles and two Gameboy color consoles

I only experienced something similar to your issue when I visited Glitch City in Pokemon Red/Blue. But this is what I would personally do...

Remove any headphones and see if issue persists

Restart Gameboy and see if issue persists

Try another game and see if issue persists

Give it new batteries and see if issue persists

Carefully open it up and look inside. For example, you don't want to lose sight of those tiny screws! You can Google whatever 'surgery' it might need

    Good luck OP

Gameboy Advance and a bag of games from Pokemon to Kirby(sadly, games don't save on Amazing Mirrors:frowning2:). I would like to point out it has lasted longer than my 3ds, which just goes to show you how durable old stuff is. Static only comes with games inserted improperly for me, don't know how to help you.

Just curious, anyone still have an N64 or SNES?

Got a Gameboy Advance hanging around in my room, only got three games tho. Don't remember anything about static noises.
Never had an N64 or SNES, too young, i'd actually like to get all the big older consoles one day tho. As a collector-type, they intrigue me.

I have a silver Gameboy Advance SP that I still occasionally use to play a few Gameboy Color games (otherwise I use my DS Lite to play Advance games). I also have an old blue Gameboy Advance that I got in 3rd grade, but I don't think it works anymore.

I've still got a Gameboy Advance, the clear blue one that was popular back in the day lol. But it's faded and discolored now, and the battery cover is missing. It still works beautifully though...I played Pokémon Blue on it yesterday. :sunglasses:

I have the original GB and a GBA SP. I started getting a line on the screen, but my son fixed that... loose wire. For sound you should check your wires also.

I have the original one, and my brother just played something on it last week. My dad won it decades ago in China from a raffle drawing.

I used to have the original GB, but now I just have a GBA (the clear bluish one that was really popular back in the day). It’s old, and the battery cover is missing, but it still works beautifully, and I still play it from time to time. I don’t know about the glitch you’re talking about, but I’ve never experienced anything like it before.

I don't, but I wish I had one. Mostly for the gaming nostalgia that I never got to experience. My parents wouldn't let us buy videogames until 2010, so about halfway through the DSi run. I think I still have that somewhere...anyway, I wish I had one just so I could have that experience of playing on an older system.
