So, I made a thread about coming out to my parents before- and now I've finally done it! :eusa_danc I gave my mum a coming out letter I'd written as we were exchanging cards and presents (it's my birthday!), and she hugged me and said "Aw (insert name here), we love and support you no matter what and we've always kind of suspected- but I wish you'd told me sooner instead of suffering in silence (I wrote a little about the bullying I went through in the letter)". Haven't told my dad yet but I have a feeling that my mum is going to tell him, if she hasn't already. I'll have to see when he gets back home. Well I guess the rainbow dream-catcher they got me years ago makes sense now. XD
Happy birthday. It must feel amazing?! Good on you for mustering the courage and being true to yourself. It's so nice to here it when people get the love respect and support they deserve. Your experience will hopefully encourage others to do the same.
My dad just came in, my mum told him about the letter. He says that it doesn't bother him. I'm just happy I finally did it and that they were so accepting! (!)
Congratulations, Canterpiece! That's wonderful! You must feel like a great weight has been lifted from your shoulders! Oh, and Happy Birthday!
I find the way you came out super cute, like when kittens wrestle with each other. Glad your family is accepting, and happy bday!!! (Even though I'm probably late now XD)
Happy belated birthday! And congrats on having the courage to come out to your parents. That's really awesome
It felt like quite a shock, in that it took awhile for me to take in that I'd actually done it. But once that blew over, everything went back to normal and all the insecurities/ fears I had went away.
