Just curious as to the longest we've gone without sleep is, and what caused it.

About 23 hours. I was travelling (how the hell do people sleep on moving vehicles with people around them??).

Ah I voted 22-26 by accident. I've stayed awake longer than that.

Longest I've managed to stay awake was about 55 hours. Decent weekend, horrible Monday. This was about 10 years ago. Now I can barely make it 18-20 hours without being drained for a few days. Maybe I'm getting old :frowning2:

I think 32 hours. I couldn't sleep that night and the next night I was having too much fun to go to bed early :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I also start to hallucinate after being awake for 30+ hours

Probably 24 hours. I can't stay up for really long. I'm not fun when I'm awake that long. I either become really bitchy or I pass out.

Ah, the great networks homework overnight. I had stayed up past 4 the night before. In class in the morning, the white wall started shimmering funky colors, especially turquoise. The outlet on the wall was slightly distorted in a wavy pattern. That was cool. I am so happy that it is summer now so I can sleep.

Mine was maybe 45 hours. I decided it would be a good idea to not sleep the night before traveling to Japan which took almost 14 hours because I thought I could sleep on the plane which didn't work out and I got no sleep. When I got to Japan though, it was only around noon so, in an effort to avoid jet lag, I stayed up until 10 or 11 that night

I never went over 30 hours. I need a lot of sleep. Staying awake for so long would probably cause me to snooze straight through an entire day.

The longest I've stayed up was 26 hours or so. 5:00AM to 7:00AM the next day. Nothing happened, I just had an inexplicable amount of energy. Forgot how my sleep schedule was afterwards, but it couldn't'be been good.

If I go a little over 24 hours I start having microsleeps whenever I sit down, it's a bad scene.

I was flying back from SC to Canada and one of my flights was diverted due to bad weather. Missed the connection, had to wait for another flight after midnight. I was supposed to have been back at my college by maybe 2 or 3 a.m. We didn't have land in Canada til around then, and then I had the bus ride from the airport to town. Caught a little catnap on the bus, got to school and had to move dorm rooms before I could sleep.

I was up well past 30 hours and I had one hell of a headache when I got up the next morning.

I remember staying up for 36 or so hours before, that wasn't one of my finer moments.

I just experienced this! It wasn't too bad, but I don't want a repeat!
I had an overnight flight and couldn't sleep on the plane. Then there was a layover in one city around 6am the following morning. I got home at 7pm and binge-watched Medium on Amazon until like 3am.

I felt like most of these numbers are so low, but then I remembered that most of you probably aren't stupid convention people like me and my friends all used to be.

"But if I sleep, I get less convention time!"
