Ok guys, as I have seen lots of different terms for sexual and gender orientation, I thought we should make a thread for it. A lot of these words are (in my opinion) confusing and unknown, so if you have a word you have seen but don't know, or don't see up here and have a definition, comment it! I am going to make the definitions short and simple.

    Sexuality:

Lesbian- A female who is attracted to other females.
Gay- Someone who is attracted to someone of the same sex, typically male.
Bisexual- Someone who is attracted to men or women. Can also mean the same thing as pansexual.
Pansexual- Someone who is attracted to all possible genders.
Queer- An overarching term for not straight

    Gender:
Transgender- Someone who was born a different gender than they are.
Non-binary/Agender- Someone who does not identify with a gender.

See any good ones, suggest them in the comments!

can we add our own definitions of our personal identities so people can see other's perspectives?

Sure! The main reason for this is a thread to go to when you don't know wtf someone's word means lol

  4. Bigender - someone who identifies with both male and female genders, either alternating between them, or simply associating themselves with both at once.

As an agender person I would like to add the following

Gyneromantic - falls in love with women
Gynesexual - is attracted to women

Asexual - does not feel sexual attraction

Transgender male - assigned female at birth but identifies as male

Asexual - does not desire sex

Queer - somewhere on the "not straight" spectrum

Cis Female: Assigned female at birth and is pretty much ok with it.
Queer: Umbrella term for "not straight".
Bisexual: Attracted to people of "both" genders.
Pansexual: Attracted to people of all genders.
Now, as for "bisexual" and "pansexual", I think that bisexual people often feel an attraction towards genderqueer and non-binary people as well, and the term is a bit inaccurate because it was invented when the idea of gender variety wasn't popular. I think "pansexual" is like a more accurate "upgrade" of the term. However, I usually come out as bisexual, because it's easier for people to understand it, and it holds some history. And it's the B in LGBT.
