I took up running last summer and it's been one of my best decisions honestly. It helps a ton with my self esteem and dysphoria and just makes me so damn happy.
I ran a 10K in the fall and I'm running my first half marathon in about a month haha. I've been training my butt off and I love it!!
    Any other crazy runners?

I'd like to get into running. I'm in JROTC now and we run a lot but it is kicking my butt with the state of my lungs.

Just came off a marathon last Sunday and already planning my next move!
And to Kodo, the best advice I could suggest for getting into running is to find a way to make it fun for you. In my case, I like to map my runs through neighborhoods and city streets because it gives a sense of adventure, like I'm a wanderer in a faraway town. Other people prefer being out on the trails and parks because they like being surrounded by nature, and still others just wanna watch sitcoms while running on a treadmill. There are many ways to run, and the best way is what makes it enjoyable for you.

I liked Cass1D's tip about making it fun. Listening to music/podcasts helps break up the monotony for me. Running in new areas is also a ton of fun. You really do feel like an explorer! But if you're trying to get back into running, I would say make sure to take things slow and only do as much as you can handle. And keep posture in mind. I used to have terrible posture and it makes running hard.
