I like D&D a lot, but always play at a beginner solo level because I hate raids! I always get lost because everyone knows the Dungeon better than me...and I get left behind. Lol. That is ok, it still is fun alone. Any one else play? What level is your favorite? Do you prefer solo or group? Sebby45
I just discovered Roll20 a couple days ago. I have a live ongoing game of D&D with some friends but only every couple weeks. Want to play more so started looking at online options. Why would your group leave you behind? Isn't the point to stick together as a team?
Don't worry, it really is not that good of a game. Personally even the old Runescape version that is now available as Runescape "classic" is better. My favorite mmo is Mabinogi which is more skill based than equipment based, as in the main stat boosts are from raising passive and active skills. The higher the rank of the skills the higher your stats get. You can wear whatever armor you want because the defense skill is the main source of defense.
I liked it but as you said everyone rushed everything so I couldnt enjoy the story. In addition it was hard to find consistent group to play with and I think this game is the best played with a group of friends to enjoy the adventures together (aaaand from time to time farm dungeons I guess, after you did the "story mode" if you will). IMO its just that I really like D&D so I didn't care for the other problems the game had.
I actually was tempted to try this game, since I've just started playing actual D&D with a group of friends, and really loved it. I know that D&D Online is just an MMORPG and not the actual game, but is it still fun to play? I'm totally willing to play that game if it's a good time. Either that or any recommendations for online games that mimic the feeling of actual D&D would be awesome.
Now I am intrigued seems like Mabinogi would be fun to try. Is it a pay to play or free like DnD? I enjoy DnD online as a stress buster. I am not into getting up there in levels or skills necessarily. I just like smashing and slashing things when I'm put out. But I think it is a fun go at your own pace game.
I just started DDO a few days ago but i really don't have time to play at the moment. I have never played D&D but i'd really like to. It's never been popular in my country.
I tried DnD Online with a former friends about 3 years ago.. It was fun for the most part but he stopped playing so I had no reason to keep going.
I use Roll20 too! I'm trying my hand at being the DM. I only did one session so far but it was super fun.
