    Hello everyone,

I have just recently came out as being trans to my mom and friends. Thankfully, so far, everyone has been pretty supportive. For the last week, I've been narrowing down a list of names that I would like to start going by but I am kind of stuck. I have my middle name narrowed down, but I am down to two first names that I am unsure of.

I would love to hear anyone's opinion!

The three options that I have been going back and forth between are:

    Theodore Leander
    Gregory Leander
    Nicholas Leander

    Thanks! :icon_bigg

Congrats on coming out and it going smoothly so far!

Those names sound pretty good to me, it all depends on which one feels right to you  Maybe you could keep one of the first names, then another as your middle name if you can't choose between two you've listed?

Ex: Gregory Nicholas Leander, Nicholas Theodore Leander, etc  Hope this helps.

Ey congrats on coming out! By the way, I went through so many names and it took me forever to find what felt right. Honestly, there's times where I consider going by the middle name I chose so I tell people they can call me either. Perhaps you could do that, just like Casey said? I think Theodore may flow the best, but that's a personal opinion and you should really only choose the name based off what you feel fits you. Take your time and remember you can always change it, what matters is that you're comfortable

Those are good names. Ultimately, I think it should be your choice. However, I would like to make two suggestions. Instead of of going by two first names, I think you should only have one and choose another to be your middle name. Having two first names could end up being quite a mouthful especially, for those closest to you who will have to get used to no longer referring to you by your birthname. Another thing to consider, is that you may come off as trying too hard to stand out. Also, congratulations.

I really like Theodore, but maybe I'm biaised

Honestly, this kind of decision needs to come from you. I personally chose my name (Theodore) because I really liked the ''ore'' sonority (in French, mind you) and because of it's French ancestry. That way, it would fit my last name.

That depends where you're from. In the French and Spanish communities, it's extremely common (we don't have middle names, so maybe that's why). Though, I assume that's not the case with OP. I don't remember seeing any anglophones with two first names.

Honestly, some might say OP tries too hard anyway, so in the end, his call.
