We never had proms in England when I was a child and it's an odd idea and now I'm clueless now that I might be going to an adult prom as a girl
    A few questions
    What did you do?
    What did you wear?
Did you go alone or with someone?
Was the experience good or bad overall?

I went, and tbh, I regret going. Hopefully your experience will be better

I never did go. I halfway asked two girls on separate occasions, they didn't even respond either way.

I never went to proms because I'm really shy at meeting new people and nobody really asked me. Also they don't really interest me :/ I wanted to ask my ex when we were dating if we could go to one a while ago but he said that he's not a good dancer and didn't want to make himself look like a fool. I respected his decision and didn't try to force him.

My parents made me go because they wanted me to be social. (I was always quite introverted). I made the compromise with them that I'd go.. as long as I got to wear a guy suit. It worked. Endless lesbian jokes from the family after that though lol.

Never went to a high school prom, but we did a middle school one I attended. I wore a red dress (which is weird for me, I usually hate dresses) and went with my two good friends. I didn't go with a date and I didn't even know my real sexuality at the time.

It was....ok I guess. I didn't find it too exciting, might be different for older ages.

I didn't go as I was bullied a lot and therefore didn't have a friend. Perhaps if my high school experience was pleasant, I would have - but even then I was never particularly social.

    Well, my prom was interesting...

My prom was at the same building and time as Anime Central 2016. I went to both, the convention and prom! I had so much more fun at the convention. My friend and I went to prom for a few hours then ditched it to go back to the con. I only went to prom because I felt obligated to, but I really didn't care for it. Even my other friends who weren't going to the con said the con looked way more fun than prom. And those same friends are coming with me to Anime Central this year!

I thought it was hilarious seeing the looks of everyone else as they walked through the convention in order to get to the ballroom that held the prom.

So basically, prom sucked, anime convention ruled.

I went to my senior prom with my boyfriend at the time and a group of friends (all paired up except for one). I wore a great full-length dress. We got our pictures taken, but mostly we just all danced together. It was a great night and I don't regret going for a second.

I did. It was a lovely evening. The main thing I remember was that my date was quite short and I'm quite tall so she wore these really high heeled shoes to make it easier to slow dance. But then they were high enough that she couldn't really fast dance in them. So any time the tempo of the music changed we would run to the sided of the dance floor giggling for her to put her shoes on or take them off. Then we would run back out and dance. It was awesome!

No. We didn't have proms when I was at school. When the school bell rang out on the last day we simply packed up and left and I'm sure some teachers were glad to see the back of us. I think it's only in the last 10-15 years that UK schools have introduced proms.

Never even went to a dance at school, let alone prom. It just wasn't my thing.

Never went. I changed schools when I was in junior high to be cyber schooled, and if we had a prom, I didn't get notified. With most of high school, I elected to not go; and when I was a senior, I flat out wanted nothing to do with it since I was in the closet and it was going to be near Philadelphia since that's where our main chapter is.

It's so true because it wasn't around in England when I was a boy.

Nope. I went to an all-male Catholic school, and I could not have brought somebody of the same-sex if I even wanted to go. I didn't even know anybody that I would have "promposaled." Plus, I was not out at the time.

For my prom, I went by myself but I still had fun. For certain reasons, there's a stigma to going to the prom by yourself. I remember wearing a tuxedo. It was a very fun night. There was a DJ who played a lot of music and I even interacted with one of my favorite teachers.

It was a very good experience. I honestly wish I could relive that night.

There were a lot of good vibes that night.

No, and I kind of wish I had. But I was going through something at the time, and the situation just made it difficult. I wish my chance to go to prom had come when I wasn't going through something like that.

Big fat NO. I didn't want to wear a dress or adornments. Then I ended up getting a cold, so luckily missed buying a ticket. Huzzah! I had an excuse and didn't have to deal with misgendered clothing and dancing.

I think Ive decided to go to the prom in a few months, but I still dont know if it'll be worth the money and time. Not many schools here do prom, but the one I go to has started doing it in the last couple of years. From what I've heard, It's a lot of fun so I might as well while I have the chance. I know I'll regret it if i dont go :/
