I am sure you will be there with chicken soup in hand in short order! Time to go take care of him.

I'm happy to hear he pulled through. Be patient with him in his efforts to quit smoking.

OMG. So sorry. That's the worst news. I hate saying God Bless to people I don't know receive that energy actively.

I don't. But the positive power in the intention is pure and has meaning.

Wow, very glad to hear he survived. He's a lucky guy and even luckier because he has you to support him through the recovery now. Best of luck to both of you.

Thank you for your kind words, he's staying at my place for the next two months while he recovers, he isn't allowed to drive for a month...going to be interesting!

I am glad to hear that your BF had pulled through and I can imagined how scary this ordeal was for you. What I would like to let you know that nowadays...heart attacks are not targeted towards a certain age bracket anymore especially if its a stress induced situation that caused it. I know a few younger guys than myself that have had heart attacks similar to what your boyfriend had suffered and they are doing very well now. Thanks for sharing your story and again...I am glad that he has pulled through...JS

Thanks again, folks, and thank you Annika, yes indeed it's been an "interesting" week, right now what he is dealing with are the emotional sequelae that follow a traumatic event. He is normally a confident and cheerful guy, but since this event he has been prone to some anxiety attacks, even though he's physically OK. It find that the psychological follow-through is really lacking, even though this is a very common thing to happen following this kind of trauma...

GW, it's a miraculous thing indeed and thank goodness that he's ok. Adding my two cents to the prayers and good wishes for you all  Here's hoping for a speedy recovery and a complete relinquishing of smoking (for both, him and your son!).
    Love and light,
    C

You know greatwhale, you've always impressed me here on EC with your deeply cerebral commentaries. I, personally, understand all-too-well that those of us who tend to be deeper and introvertive can have a harder time handling or dealing with the physical and psychological trauma of a loved-one. I'm also confident that you have it within you to help your BF through this. Sure, you will have to tolerate his irrational out-lashes, but you KNOW where that's coming from. You can help him to over come it and you certainly have the temperament to withstand any deeply emotional and irrational assaults that he throws at you. You know that they aren't personal, even if he chooses you use personal words and cutting turns of phrase. You, as a person, are both strong enough to do this and intelligent enough to weather any irrational/emotional storms.

I wish both of you only the best!

    My 2cents.
