I've been reading about mindfulness and meditation and trying to use the techniques to help when feeling down or lost. Realizing that feelings are just that and they'll pass helps me and i hadn't really thought about them that way previously. My therapist suggested this site that has some modules to address some of the areas I need to improve. I've gotten some help from them or at least gives me new ways to look at life challenges. I hope you're feeling better or will soon!

I walk. I've always been an anti exercise type of girl but I have found walking regularly helps. I listen to podcasts while I walk

I swim (and walk). When I was young I had a dog-eared copy of Auntie Mame, by Patrick Dennis; whenever I was feeling down I'd pick it up and read a chapter or two in no particular order — that never failed to cheer me up.

In retrospect, how did my parent fail to recognize me as gay?

I do a lot of journaling, listening to music. If you're creative at all, getting out your creative energy can be really cathartic (painting, writing, playing music, etc)
