I want to sing a song to ask out a girl I like, but the struggle is which song, because any song sung by a girl, is addressed to a boy, but I do have a pretty low alto voice, so it works to sing a song a boy addressed to a girl. Any suggestions?

A LOT of songs are love related. As in, pretty much most of what's on the radio.

For me...three of my all time favorite love songs is Spandau Ballet's "True" and the group Breathe "Hands to Heaven and How Can I Fall?". I truly love these songs and they are special to me.

I don't really listen to many love songs, so I might not be the most qualified person to answer this question, but I'd go with "Into My Arms" by Nick Cave (provided the religious themes aren't going to be a problem) it's a really soft song so your voice shouldn't be a problem, and it's just beautiful (and that's coming from someone who mostly listens to angry metal songs!).

Another (probably better) idea would be "Paper Boats" from the OST for the video game Transistor. In the game it's sung by a woman to a man, but it doesn't have any gender pronouns in it so it will work for you needs.

Love They Say by Tegan and Sara is a great love song, but if it's a song for asking someone out, I would sing I Want To Kiss You by the Spook School

Definitely something from Jim Croce in my opinion,
if the story goes well with your situation, u could sing I'll Have To Say I Love You In A Song (i also think it's quite easy to remember AND to sing, so it's a nice choice)

Or perhaps Time In A Bottle by (again) Jim Croce because it's simply the sweetest song ever!

If u want something more modern, u could try singing Baby I'm Yours by Arctic Monkeys, or Toothpaste Kisses by The Maccabees (it's quite short and cute)

Hope it was helpful and not late.

I love the simpler songs from earlier decades. A unique one I always return to is simply "Love," from Disney's Robin Hood.

"Love, it seems like only yesterday
You were just a child at play
Now you're all grown up inside of me
Oh how fast those moments flee

Once we watched a lazy world go by
Now the days seem to fly
Life is brief, but when it's gone
    Love... goes on and on."
