She's really awesome, and kind and smart but she is older than me I turned 19 this last week. She is 20. Is that to big an age difference?
A year at your age is perfectly fine. What really matters for a healthy relatioship is emotional development, ability to get along, and, in particular, ability to talk openly about issues each of you have, and that the relationship be built based on shared responsibility and balance. If you have those things, you're good to go.
That doesn't even sound like an age difference...? You're both legal and It's only one year. Whether an age limit is harmful depends on a) Is one a minor and the other not?, b) Is the older one in a position of power?, c) Do you have similar emotional psyches and areas in life? (Even a 27 year old dating a 21 year old is fine if they have similar emotional states)
Age difference really seems to be an issue that many couples are taken by. My position is that a 2 year gap at 16 is huge but a 2 year gap at 40 is irrelevant. Referring to the OP's point I feel that if you go for it that age gap will wither and die within months. Be bold - grab the initiative!
No, you are both legal adults and are able to consent. What matters more is that you get along, both like each other, share common interests, and have mutual respect for one another!!
