Ik, im new here and the question sounds weird, but I (14/F) have a soft touch for poetry and when I can, I write my gf (also 14/F) love poetry. She thinks its nice and even cried reading the first one I wrote her, but sometimes im a bit skeptical over whether she actually likes it... I'm in a conservative (the bad type, im only saying this because I am a conservative myself) environment so i can't just buy her presents or whatever. I also put candy bars in her locker (with a sticky note with a heart drawn on it) attached to it or something or a soda from the vending machine when I have spare change. We are also both Christians, in case that's relevant.

So, what I'm trying to ask is whether you would find it sweet or meaningful if your gf/bf wrote you epic love poems? Thank you.

I'm 14 and I would love it. It wouldn't matter to me whether or not you were good (I bet you are) it would only matter if you meant what you said. Anything like that would mean a lot to me because it comes from the heart.

I'd find it very sweet if my girlfriend wrote me a poem.

I'd like the gesture. Whether or not it's good or bad wouldn't matter, because the thought of somebody taking the time to write that for me would be enough for me to appreciate it.

I don't think you need to be doubting your gf's opinion of your poems if she tells you she likes them. If she sometimes cries upon reading them, that's enough of a sign that she finds them really moving.

^^ I agree with this! If she was crying, then that's definitely a good sign that your poetry is moving.

Personally, I'd love it if someone did that for me. I'd think it was so nice and considerate, especially seeing as I'm a literature nerd and I love stuff like that.

    I'd love that!

As far as the sitch with your girlfriend goes, why do you think she doesn't always like them? Even if it's true, I wouldn't worry - you can still love someone even if you think their love notes are occasionally clunky, and often people think things their S/Os do that are slightly clumsy are just cute anyhow. Besides, you might get the feeling that she doesn't like a poem if she's not as enthusiastic about it as last time - but maybe she's tired that day, or maybe she does like it, just not quite as much as the first one you gave her.

Awww. I love poetry. And to think that you would take the time and effort to write it just for her! I believe that is one of the sweetest gestures you can make. Especially since that is a talent you can use to express your love.

I probably would bawl like a baby. :tears:

I'm a big lover of the English language so if it was written well, I'd more than likely swoon.

I'd deeply appreciate the gesture even though I don't normally care for poetry. There was a time when I fancied myself a bit of a poet and I wrote some for a girlfriend I had at the time back when I dated girls. It's pretty cringey now, but I bet she loved it.

I love writing poetry myself, so I'd enjoy it provided it was good  Otherwise I might have a hard time because I'd have to be honest about it if it was poor... That said, love is a very inspiring topic and every poet writes some cringe-worthy stuff in the throes of it...

i sometime write my girlfriend horny poems, so i believe it's alright, as long as it is okay for both of you. ofc you are quite young, so don't worry, when you'll get older even after one year it will be a fine memory, keep these things up, don't worry and good luck too you both ;>
