I just came out to my sister as pansexual and "being neither a woman nor a man". We were talking about Christmas and how I struggled with celebrating because I am an atheist and didn't want to pretend to believe something I don't. Then there was this kind of "thinking-silence" during which repeated coming out phrases in my head. Pretending seemed close enough to coming out as a topic. The words didn't really arrange properly in my head but I just blurted them out anyway. While I talked, I couldn't really believe I was actually doing it. But I did. And my sister's reaction was even more amazing than I expected. She said that it didn't matter what I was because she knew who I was. We then went on to have a conversation on gender roles and society. She already has a pretty good grasp on the whole concept. I am really happy now This was less awkward than I thought it would be.
