Could jokingly talk about how 2016 has been one heck of a ride especially with gay marriage being passed in the US and so forth. Kind of draw something out of them. If that's too subtle, could always say," I wish I could've been in D.C. for all the historic events this summer."

Really will depend on how accepting they are of gays. What I did was asked my dad for dinner one night to talk to him about something bothering me. He guessed before they had the waitress had a chance to ask what we were going to have to drink

 

Make comments on attractive women..show interest in things relating to gay culture..

 

Ask her what she thinks of Ellen :O

Just be it, you don't have to make a public statement, just be you eventually she'll figure it out.

 

Buy yourself a rainbow/pride necklace or bracelet and talk about LGBT issues more openly.

 

I've been wanting to know the exact same thing! Hints seem like good groundwork for "the big come-out". Maybe start talking about a crush or someone you simply think is cute using gender neutral pronouns.
