I'm not sure if there are any other threads about this, but I was just wondering what everyone does for a living, what you make, your job satisfaction, and your age.

I am 24, work in home health with the elderly (independent, assisted living, etc) and am part time since I'm in college full time. I don't make much since I'm mainly a student, so I won't post it, but I'd rate it a 7/10 probably. Some days are pretty hectic. It's much better than any of my previous jobs however.

    Share if you're comfortable.

I don't have a job, so pretty much all my income comes from student loans.

I'm a student full-time, so I prefer to spend my time on that. Even if I did work, with how the student loan program is made, I'd actually lose money. So yeah, pretty sucky.

The more time you have for college the better!

Just finished undergrad and starting medical school next year. For part time work I tutor high school maths and science.

    Good for you.

I feel like medical school would be too intense for me.

Cool, home health is a really important field to be in

I teach English! I taught high school for a while, so I'm teaching core English classes on my way through graduate degrees so I can hopefully teach full-time at a university at some point.

I don't have a full time job. Sometimes I'll help people with gutting out their homes (I've seen some pretty gross stuff doing that), or by helping them with other household needs. (Painting, assembly, etc)

Otherwise I am a student, living at home. Which does have it's perks, considering that as long as I am pursuing an education my mother is letting me live rent-free.

I'm a college student but I freelance as a music producer and composer. I play the occasional gig which brings in some money too.

Thanks! I do like knowing I am helping a lot of elderly people.

Good for you. My parents were both teachers, but they told me not to be one. That is a very important job as well though!

I bet you've seen some things... That IS a nice perk.

Wow! You sound very talented!

I sometimes do odd gardening jobs, pulling weeds, mowing lawns stuff like that. Sometimes I get jobs walking dogs, and at the moment I'm applying for a job at the vet cleaning and helping out there. I'm pretty useless at holding jobs, the longest one I've had was only 5 months :/

I'm a full-time college student studying history (pre-law) and museum studies. I haven't decided yet if I want to go on to law school or grad school for museum studies though. In my free time I assistant direct the choir at my old high school and do swing dance. I'm still looking for a part time job to be able to help my parents pay for classes but that hasn't gone well.

I'm taking a year or two out of studying to work, and at the moment I just work in a shop, nothing special. How much I make is dependent on how much overtime I do - I'm only technically contracted to Saturdays and Sundays but I usually do at least 2-3 extra shifts per week, so I end up working 30-40 hours per week on average. I'm having this week off, though!

I'm 18 and a full-time student. I'm also a part time waiter at an Italian restaurant but I only work one or two nights a week. It definitely pays better than what most of my friends make

I'm 25 and work as a clerk at a local grocery store due to the fact that the reporting job I was aiming for my whole college career turned into a huge nightmare. I'm looking for something in communications, advertising or marketing. Or something that pays more than a clerk and has consisted days off. Whichever comes first.

I'm in private banking. I work for a major bank/brokerage house and if you have enough money with the firm you get one of me. Sometimes my colleagues can be kind of challenging but I adore my clients and feel that I am fairly compensated.

24 security supervisor and looking for a better job in police services until I get my fitness back on track. Kinda let go since I was wrestling with my sexuality.

I'm a 26 yrs old PhD student in Immunology. I'm pretty happy where I am so far and hope to continue on the academic path in the future. So far, pursuing this path has led me to live abroad in Scotland (4 years), England (3 years), and now Switzerland (9 months and counting :icon_bigg). It's been fun meeting new people and living in new places.

The stipend I get off the PhD scholarship allows me to live quite comfortably - it's relatively low compared to the rest of jobs in Switzerland but I really have nothing to complain about. It feeds me, houses me and I can *cautiously* splurge from time to time. Hehe.

    Friendly greetings

I've done many jobs, but my actual trade is precision engineering. I've not done that for a few years and since then I've bordered on the Private Investigation profession and now I've returned to the building trade with a daily dose of farmwork thrown in. I work six or seven days a week.
